Bio

On my father's side, I am descended from Hugh and Margaret (McLain) Hanley from Ireland. The family immigrated to the Huron District of Ontario Canada in 1837. There were ten children. One son moved to Oregon, at least two went to Michigan, and several other children stayed in the Goderich area of Huron County in Ontario. Hugh died shortly after arrival in Canada and Margaret died in Port Huron Michigan in 1867.

My mother’s side side of the family flows from Walter 1612-1685 and Elizabeth 1620-1685 (Rogers) Woodworth of Scituate, Massachusetts and arrived from Chidwell, Lancaster, England in 1634.

A wordsmith I am not, so I chose to have others reveal my thoughts through their quotes.
- I quote others only in order the better to express myself -
(Michel de Montaigne)

I think that in some small way we honor our ancestors by the simple act of remembering. My goal is to provide a roadmap by linking my family so that future genealogist can more readily find those they seek. This task can be difficult when maiden names are lost to history.

Do not hesitate to ask for a memorial transfer. I do not have a desire to keep memorials I have created unless they are connected to my family tree.
