Bio

Every FAMILY has a story. . . . WELCOME to OURS. I am the baby of 11 children. My Father was married before my Mother and had 5 children, then he married my Mother and had 6 more children with her and adopted one. All together was 12 children. I was the baby of both marriages. My Father told me many times "It was LOVE and first site" when he first saw my Mom. There was always something going on in our home. My parents filled our home with LOVE-we didn't have money but there was LOVE! My Father was 17 years older than my Mother so I grew up watching Western Movies & Western TV Shows, The Andy Griffith Show, Hee Haw, and watching The Grand Ole Opry Show. I was and will always be "My Daddy's Little Girl!" My Mother would be listening to Elvis or watching Elvis movies on TV, canning, and cooking. There was an age difference but they equaled each other out. On top of the 7 kids they raised together they even raised other people's children that didn't belong to them because it was not only the right thing to do but it was the ONLY thing to do. He loved his family dearly and always made them a priority. Family & Church he would say. My Father would tell stories of the Old Luke's and the old days while I listened to him. I get my side of loving nature and music from my Daddy and my love of FAMILY and Genealogy from my Mom's side. They taught me God comes first, and then Family. My Parents raised us well with what money they had and it wasn't a lot but I am very PROUD to say I am Constant Luke's Granddaughter, Lonnie Constant Luke's Daughter, and Kevin Luke's Baby Sister- Rest In Peace My Amazing Beautiful Family! I AM STANDING ON SHOULDERS OF GIANTS!!!!

Lord, help me dig into the past and sift the sands of time. I might find the roots that made this family tree of mine. Lord, help me trace the ancient roads on which my father's trod and led them through so many lands to find our present sod. Lord, help me find an ancient book or dusty manuscript-that's safely hidden now away in some forgotten crypt. Lord, let it bridge the gap that haunts my soul when I can't find-the missing link between some name that ends the same as mine.
I am the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family stories, and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead breathing life into all who have gone before. I am the storyteller of this Luke Tribe.

The Genealogists Psalm: Genealogy is my pastime, I shall not stray. It Maketh me lie down and examine half-buried tombstones. It Leadeth me into still courthouses. It Restoreth my ancestral knowledge. It Leadeth me in paths of census records and ship's passenger lists for my surname's sake. Yea, though I walk through the shadows of research libraries and microfilm readers. I Shall Fear No Discourgement. For a strong urge is within me. The curiosity and motivation they Comforteth me. It Annointeht my head with burning mid-night oil. My family group sheets runneth over. Surely birth, marriage, and death dates Shall Follow Me All The Days Of My Life, And I Shall Dwell In The House Of A FAMILY.

LUKE FAMILY CREED:
LOVE OF GOD.
LOVE OF FAMILY.
LOVE OF OTHERS.
LOVE OF COUNTRY.
WORK HARD.
SPEAK THE TRUTH.
SHOW GRACE.
BE GRATEFUL.
GIVE BACK.
STAY HUMBLE.
REMEMBER WHERE YOU CAME FROM.

When my soul is restless
When things seem out of line
I'll visit an old graveyard
To take a mystical step back in time.

I find the oldest tombstones
Then read the messages there
I consider what their days had been
And how our lives in ways compare.

We all have lived though pain and heartaches
As well as episodes of fun
Surviving terrible loss of our special loved ones
And then being rewarded for a job well done.

Sometimes if I'm very still
I can hear what they have to say
And feel them reaching out to me
Grateful for my momentary stay.
