Find A Grave's mission is 'graves registration'. |
Please specify your relationship when requesting transfers. I am no longer transfering outside the Findagrave guidelines.
Due to the growing popularity of the website I have been getting multiple transfer requests for the same memorial from several different contributors. Trying to determine who should get the memorial is becoming difficult for me.
Find-A-Grave Policy on Transfers
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not want to make the transfer.
I am always happy to make corrections and add links when asked.

My wife is from the Howell family line. They believe Aaron Howell (Find A Grave Memorial # 28814776) is son of David Howell, son of Richard Howell, a revolutionary war commander close to Gen. Washington, and later governor of New Jersey. This line also includes Varina Howell Davis, wife of confederate pres. Jefferson Davis.
Aaron's memorial references Jeremiah Howell (# 77251747) as Aaron's father, not David. Can you aide me with the source of Jeremiah's listing as father of Aaron?

FYI, Our paths have crossed before. Thank you for such a quick turn around on the edits! FYI, a dear friend of mine died in Coldwater a couple of weeks ago. I knew her since I was about 5 years old and always played with her children. Anyway, after I made her memorial, I saw that her dad's memorial (Floyd Edward Williams) included an obituary that listed all his siblings. So now they are all linked up except for an infant girl, and two brothers that must be buried somewhere other than Commanche or Clark County. (I may have found one brother in Thomas County (Colby) but I have to ask the family to help me on that.)
It seems anymore that I do a lot more linking and stuff like that then actually creating new memorials. Nevertheless, I love to do links because most people are part of a family.
Thank you Judy for updating these memorials, much appreciated.

Would you know the burial location (ie. Section, Row) for this # 22665824 memorial? Thanks.

Thank you Judy, that's what I thought based on the background behind the headstone. Would you be interested in the two listings being consolidated into one? "No" is a completely understandable and acceptable response. :-)

Hi again Judy, sorry to keep bugging you. I was looking up my ancestor John Henry Ewing and it appears there are duplicate listings for him. One is yours, which has him interred at Belle Vista in El Dorado, KS, the other is by a distant cousin of mine and has him interred at Sunset Lawns (also in El Dorado, but at the other end of town.
I just want to confirm you know for sure he was at Belle Vista? Unfortunately I don't live in the area so I can't confirm it myself.
