Research of my families encompasses a wide-ranging list of surnames and locales. My primary focus is (paternal) Fortney, Groves & Summers and (maternal) Armstrong, Boylen & Fawley all of whom eventually ended-up in West Virginia including those who migrated early-on from Maryland, Pennsylvania & (old) Virginia.|
The majority of memorials I have created are of my relatives. However, I have created some memorials for unrelated folks whose headstones I just happened to photograph while visiting a particular cemetery. If I have created a memorial that you'd like transferred to you, please send a note via normal channels under the 'Edit' tab of the memorial with a comment stating your relationship to that person.
Headstone Photos: permission is hereby given to relatives to use my headstone photos for their personal use. You can right click on a photo and select to Save to your computer.
If you are or think you are related to me, please contact me by email and/or visit my website.

|Judy Grubb||RE: Opal Leona Atkinson Casteel #145785731|
Del, Thank you for the info. Opal was my 5th cousin. I don't have very much info on her or her family. If you are willing to share I will gladly add that to her site or whatever info you are willing to share. She comes from the Ferguson-Barnard lines of my family. Am so happy to have her burial place confirmed. Thank you again.

I am so grateful for the information you emailed me about my 4th great-grandmother Eva Margaretha Wuest Bittner. I have credited you in the bio of my 4th Great-Grandmother. When I opened the hyperlinks you provided, I learned that Moden Creek later became Muddy Creek Fork. I also learned when York County was formed from a part of Lancaster County August, 1749.
Thanks so much,
Betty L. Bitner
|Michelle Fortney Woodall||RE: re: Kenneth Thayer Fortney|
Hello, my name is Michelle L. (Fortney) Woodall. Daughter of Ralph Wilson Fortney and Chiqueta Juanita (Albright/Fortney) Hayes. Yes my father was son to Gay Willis Fortney and Kathleen Virginia Downs Fortney. By my family stories, yes Kathleen was married to the two brothers Gay and Kenneth. I do not believe that Kenneth had any children. By my records Gay and Kathleen had 7 (Mary, Willard, Ellen, Ralph, Janet, Florence and Gerald) children. The only ones living are Florence Lorraine Fortney ( I believe she never had children and lives somewhere in the Preston county, WV area) and Gerald T. Fortney (I believe he was married and recently lost his wife and he was living in Texas near Abilene). I do not know if this will help you in your searches. I am not on Find A Grave very often these days, but please feel free to respond with any stories or questions and I will get back with you when I log on. Thank you for your searching... Michelle

First and Foremost, Del, Thank you for all your work and dedication to Find A Grave, you have helped put so many peoples families together. Thank You
There is a gravestone on her memorial and it shows the dates as 1852-1931, do you have some other documentation for her birth date as 1855.
Again Thank You
Judi and Marie

I deleted my record.
|Terry Magyar||Catharine AULT Phillips,|
Good catch, regarding her three memorials.I suspect the senior memorial, with the photo, was simply posted to the wrong cemetery.
I contacted the manager of the senior memorial and recommended he transfer it to the Bethal Cemetery, in Key, OH.

|BL Thorne||RE: Thomas Summers 1879-1945 spouse Rebecca ??|
I have a Thomas Summers that was married to Rebecca Thorn (my relative). I don't have much information about them...most of the Thorn(e)s I know the most about are in Southern Maryland. The Thomas I have was the son of John A. (b. 1761) and Chloe (b. 1762).
