I was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and grew up just east of there in the small town of Murrysville. Through Army, college, and company transfers, I've retired to East Texas.

I was married to Janet Marie (Vogel) Hartley ,and have three children, Tim, Todd & Kari.

My genealogy interests are (Paternal): Hartley, Headlee(ey), Gass (my stone wall), Fordyce, Lemley, Shriver, Barrickman, Jones, Cunningham and Prickett. (Maternal): Green, Knox, Jackson, Scott (England), Heacox, Barton and Hawley.
I'm willing to take photos for anyone in and around the Tyler, Texas area. I would like to thank those that have taken photos for me. I've "met" some great friends that way.

Please email me with any additions and/or corrections and I'll gladly update.

Please note: Many thanks to Carolina Angel for sponsoring my wife's memorial page.

A very special thank you to my friend Diane Miller for sponsoring my great grandparents, Joseph & Margaret (Scott) Green and Albert Henry Knox. Please visit Diane's family.

RE: Maria Fordyce FAG request
I think a lot of volunteers are complaining that Find A Grave is not notifying folks that their requests are being filled. glitch in the system?
There are many Fordyces in this cemetery.
Just go to and search for the cemetery. Whiteley Chapel Cemetery, Garards Fort, Greene Co PA.
When that comes up click: view all interments.
Scroll down to Fordyce.....I posted pics of quite a few.
If you are ever back in the area, message me, and I will be glad to show you where the cemetery is. It is really close to the interstate. On top of a hill. can't see from road. you drive down a little lane that says Gamelands. and walk up a path to the site. Half the fun of photographing the stones is actually trying to locate the cemetery!! : )

RE: Maria Fordyce FAG request
I left your request open in case we get a chance to go back out and look again.
This cemetery is not maintained. There are briar bushes everywhere. Most grave stones have sunk beneath the grass and weeds. We had to dig a few out and clean them to be able to read the inscriptions. there were several small markers dug up and laid next to the fence. Probably infants or children.
Hopefully someday we can have a group do some work on restoring the markers or at least digging them back up.....It is on top of a hill with woods all around. very peaceful spot!
I would say at least 2/3 of the graves are missing stones....or are beneath the grass.
I added about 35 more photos to the Find A Grave site if any of them are your relatives....they weren't requested, but we thought as long as we were there, we'd go ahead and take what we could.

Maria Fordyce FAG request
My husband and I photographed all the remaining stones at Whiteley Chapel Cemetery, Greene Co PA
I filled the request for Maria. It is the only stone in the cemetery with her initials. I cannot be sure is this is her grave or not.
Will be glad to delete it if you so desire.
Sincerely, Sally Baird

RE: Hartleys
It's my pleasure to make those transfers, Olin. If I have created any other memorials you may have an interest in, please let me know so I can get those to you, too.

Olin, Yes you have permission to use the photo, the others were taken without permission. This is why I hesitate to post any photos. Yes, Lena and Charles are ancestors; they attended many Moore family functions. Blessings in all your future endeavors, Mary Richards.

RE: The Worthington's
You are welcome-I linked one of their daughters to their memorials, thanks to your interest in them. It is all a big circle, with the Find A Grave community working togeather to remember these people.

RE: Robert & Akice Hanilton
Olin I was not aware you wanted photos of them. I have neglected my find a grave entries and just trying to catch up.

I do not have headstone photos now but I will have after I take my trip to the area this June as we discussed on the phone in Florida last Saturday.

Take Care

FRIENDSHIP WISH: May there always be work for your hands to do. May your purse always hold a coin or two. May the Sun always shine on your windowpane. May a Rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you and may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
