Find A Grave's mission is 'graves registration'. |
Please specify your relationship when requesting transfers. I am no longer transfering outside the Findagrave guidelines.
Due to the growing popularity of the website I have been getting multiple transfer requests for the same memorial from several different contributors. Trying to determine who should get the memorial is becoming difficult for me.
Find-A-Grave Policy on Transfers
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not want to make the transfer.
I am always happy to make corrections and add links when asked.

|Arubaborn||My mother's grave|
Thank you, Judy Mayfield, for the photo of my mother's grave on this site. I have looked on this site every few months, for years, and just happened to see it, yesterday.
It is remarkably like the grave stone of my father, the other Gravendijk available on this site. His grave is in a small rural cemetery, Mecklin, outside of Independence, Missouri.
I had no input to either stone, but it is gratifying to see they are so similar.
My mother is the sister of "Cappy" Tole, William Basil Tole, but always called Cappy.
She is the niece of Milton Layton Bradly Tole. Both of them are also buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
My mother was born in Liberty, Kansas and the majority of her family is there. Her parents are William Wesley Tole and Amanda Bell Kelso. And her grandparents are John A Kelso and his wife, Mary Ann Spencer and James Henry Tole and his wife, Harriett Richards Tole. All of them are buried in the Liberty, Kansas cemetery and already on this site.
I have to admit, seeing my mother's gravestone appear on my huge computer screen was an enormous shock. She died so very long ago, and that 65 year old stone still seems so fresh and pretty. I was quite young when she died and was not born or raised in the States, so I have only seen the grave three times, all since I was already a mother of school aged daughters, in the late 1970's. My Dutch father did not bring me back up the States for the funeral. She died exactly a week after we had to return to his job, in a foreign country. In 1950, the diagnosis of cancer and the length of time left for the patient were not details given to the family. He had no idea that she was dying and she wanted me returned to our home so I could start first grade on time, so we returned to our home.
Thank you, again, for the photo. It is nice to be able to enter only their surname in the search engine and see them come up, together, even though they were not buried even in the same state.
Thanks for the great picture of my great uncle Larry

|David Forcade||Update on the Washington Waymire Memorial|
Just wanted to thank you for the added newspaper article regarding the deaths of Washington Waymire and Rhoda Elliott. Especially happy to hear about Melvin Otis Wells and how and when he died. I only knew that Melvin had died young but hadn't found anything prior has to how he died or exactly when (only had it as early 1900s). This really helps in my book on the Waymire family and the families of their spouses.
If curious, and don't know already, the relationships are:
Washington is the husband of Hester (Wells) Waymire.
Melvin Wells is the nephew of Hester and the son of her half-brother Benjamin Otis Wells (all of Dexter)
Rhoda Elliott is the mother of Henrietta (Elliott) Wells who married Hester's older brother, Samuel H. Wells (also of Dexter).
(a great-grandson of Washington and Hester Waymire)
Thanks for processing the Huffstutter links.

Thank you for your putting the photo of the gravestone for John G. & Emma Caroline 'Linebarger' Marcum on the Find A Grave Memorial# 141758657.
Would it be okay if I post it to my Ancestry.com family tree with credit to Find A Grave contributor Judy Mayfield. I found it already on ancestry posted by someone else but I believe that the photo is yours.
