Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and grew up just east of there in the small town of Murrysville. Through Army, college, and company transfers, I've retired to East Texas.

I was married to Janet Marie (Vogel) Hartley ,and have three children, Tim, Todd & Kari.

My genealogy interests are (Paternal): Hartley, Headlee(ey), Gass (my stone wall), Fordyce, Lemley, Shriver, Barrickman, Jones, Cunningham and Prickett. (Maternal): Green, Knox, Jackson, Scott (England), Heacox, Barton and Hawley.
I'm willing to take photos for anyone in and around the Tyler, Texas area. I would like to thank those that have taken photos for me. I've "met" some great friends that way.

Please email me with any additions and/or corrections and I'll gladly update.

Please note: Many thanks to Carolina Angel for sponsoring my wife's memorial page.

A very special thank you to my friend Diane Miller for sponsoring my great grandparents, Joseph & Margaret (Scott) Green and Albert Henry Knox. Please visit Diane's family.

RE: John T. Headlee
Hi Olin:

I just found an exact reference to the burial place of John and Lydia Headlee. After googling "Stingwell Farm", I got to the Headlee Family History by Bill Putnam on line (which I have seen before). Under "Lydia Headlee", it refers to the location of the farm on the "north end of the Stingwell" and states that John and Lydia are buried there. It also indicates some descendants are still living on the land!

RE: James Gilbert Photo Request
Olin,
Thanks for getting the info. I am just waiting on a few others that requested photos from Windsor Grove to get back to me. I should be getting there in the next week and a half. We have had quite a bit of rain this past week. I just hope the graves are not under water.

RE: John T. Headlee
Hi Olin:

Thanks for your reply. I unfortunately do not have the burial place of John Headlee. According to one reference, he died at Stingwell Farm, Greene Co., PA--maybe he's buried there or in one of the 2 Headley cemeteries, and just not entered in find-a-grave.

We hope to make a trip to PA in the fall or next spring and conduct a search, as well as visit the grave of my husband's ancestors, Ephraim Headlee and Samuel Fordyce. I guess you and Jerry are to some degree related! His paternal grandmother, Guilla Mason Wilson was the granddaughter of Sarah Jane Headley, daughter of Phineas and Matilda Headley (I see that Phineas, John's son, is buried in Headley cemetery # 2)

Thanks again for your work in recording the graves of ancestors.

James Gilbert Photo Request
Oline,
I would like to honour your request for a photo of James Gilbert's grave marker at Windsor Grove Cemetery. I can no longer get information on people that were not related to me.
The office has records for both Windsor Memorial Gardens & Windsor Grove Cemetery and can be reached at 519-969-4146 or "info@windsormemorial.com"

RE: Mrs Lovicy H. Akin Fell
Hi,

Well, it's been a very long time since I've been to this cemetery but if I remember correctly, all the headstones like this only have one side with any information (name bd etc)

I took all the headstone pictures in that cemetery up to 2006 or 2007. If there was a headstone for her husband, I would have added it to Find A Grave. However, I could have missed it. That's always possible.

I no longer live in that area so it would be difficult for me to go there to find this memorial. The headstone would have been next to this one. Usually the wife is buried next to the husband but not always I'm sure.

It looks like Piper Funeral Home records were added to Oakwood Hill Cemetery for her husband so he is there somewhere. He just may not have had a headstone. However, I can't see why that would be the case. Hopefully you can find someone who can take a look and get a photo for you.

Would you like this memorial for Mrs. Lovicy H. Akin Fell transferred to you? Let me know and I'll do that.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help about the other memorial and headstone picture.

dear Olin,
I have changed the DOD to reflect your date but kept the original in quotes and added a note to explain why and who gave the different death date. If you'd rather not have your name in the memorial, just let me know and I will replace it with your Find A Grave number
All The Best, Marcialyn
