PLEASE IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE PHOTO'S TAKEN BY CONTRIBUTORS ON FAG ON ANCESTORY or anywhere else BE CURTEOUS ENOUGH TO ASK PERMISSION AND ALWAYS GIVE THEM CREDIT AS IT TAKES TIME AND EFFORT TO TAKE THE PHOTO'S. I don't mind my photo's from here being shared and I am sure most contributors don't mind, but it is the way things should be done.
I have been interested in genology since 1979. We, my husband and I enjoy it. I thank everyone on find a grave for their efforts and the work they do to help others. Thanks to my husband, Dan & his friend, Dean, who go to cemeteries that are hard to get to and take pictures for me to add to memorials. I have taken a lot of them myself it is a joint effort. I hope thru the pictures and Memorials that we are helping someone make their connections.
If I have a memorial and you are a relative feel free to go to edit and request a transfer. If they are not in our families I will be glad to transfer to you. I love it when they are personalized.
PLEASE PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS. FIND A GRAVE IS NOT A CONTEST AS TO WHO HAS THE MOST MEMORIALS. IT IS TO HONOR THE PERSON WHO HAS PASSED AWAY AND HELP PEOPLE LOCATE THEIR RELATIVES AND LOVED ONES GRAVE. THANK YOU. Barbara & Dan.
Sarah F Randolph at SDB Cem Salem Hi Barbara, A request if you happen to be stopping in at the SDB Church Cemetery in Salem at some point. The only death information for Sarah F. Randolph, daughter of Stephen Davis Fitz Randolph and Mary Elendor Hurst appears to be on her gravestone. There is a Find A Grave profile and photo, which gives the correct birthdate in Dec 1892 (there is a birth record), but a questionable death date of Dec 1893. I say questionable because she wasn't given a name in her birth record, so I thought she probably died soon after she was born. One cannot read it from the photo (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=134821907), so I wonder if you looked at in person you would be able to see it better. There also seems to be an image of fox and a rabbit in the engraving -- I wonder if that is more obvious in person, too. Maybe a reference to the Uncle Remus stories? Absolutely no hurry -- only if you have a chance. Best, Tom
I am new to this program, but I looked up my grandmother, Mary Ellen Baker Adams and she has in her discription that she married Ira Clinton Adams Sr. on August 28, 1992. August 28 is correct, but it was in 1948, This is a year before my father (Ira Clinton Adams Jr.) was born. I don't know whether the Herold Record had the date mistaken or what. I do not have a copy of the marriage certificate, but I believe they were married in the Washington DC area. I'm not sure how to make changes to these, but could you please correct this. I have more information about Ira Clinton Adams Sr and Mary Ellen Baker Adams if you would like. Please reach out to me, I would love to help. My email is DAdams26554@gmail.com. Thanks -David Adams
I hope you all are doing well. I've been working on the Catholic Section of the Blockhouse Hill Cemetery. Can you please change the death date for Patrick E O'Neal to Dec 30, 1872? Here is his death record: http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_dcdetail.aspx?Id=5050643
Thanks, Barbara for all you've done on Find-A-Grave for Doddridge County.
RE: Randolph Infants Barbara, It's great that you are so careful about the information you post! And thanks for posting my notes on the Infant Randolph discrepancies. Please do check with Renee -- it's you and Renee who have been my lifesavers as I try to piece together my WV family history from afar. You can see all of the evidence I have compiled-- mostly from the FamilySearch site so that anyone can go back to them -- on wikitree, starting with Emily Jane http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sutton-4705. Unfortunately, I haven't found their marriage record online, but have many others that support the link to Sutton. And you can link to the infants' profiles from her profile and see the links back to the official records there. There is an obituary for James Fitz Randolph at Renee's site (one of the footnotes in James's record there) that also supports the link. The marriage license you posted looks to be for a different James L. Randolph, probably a VA Randolph, not a Fitz Randolph. The date is much too early and precedes their births. I will put up a couple of your photos on Emily's and James's wikitree profile so you can see if you're comfortable with how they are referenced. The actual photo referenced gets a but buried on the dedicated photo page which is separate from the main profile page, but where the photo is also displayed, but I also will have a note in the acknowledgements on the main profile page. Thanks! Tom
RE: Randolph Infants Barbara, You are doing a fantastic job! The corrections I have suggested you can only see when you are in the process of trying to document everything known about a family -- and then you can spot any inconsistencies or what seems to be better information. And there are a number of inconsistencies for this family, so thanks for helping to record that on FindaGrave for others -- I am trying to do the same for these folks in their profiles on Wikitree. BTW would you give me permission to display the photos of the various family members for James Fitz Randolph and Emily Jane Sutton on Wikitree? If you are ok with that, are you the original photographer, and how would you prefer the acknowledgement to read? Best, Tom
Lillie Harris Baber I did see where another name was on the memorial but I wasn't sure how all of this worked. I have been a member for a while but didn't know how it all worked. I will request a transfer. Thanks. I wasn't sure what that meant either. LOL And no worries, I have searched for this grave so long.....I definitely won't be deleting it.
