Bio and Links
Bio Photo My research of family names include:

Soccorsi, Ciampanella, Santolini, Lalli, & Lauri families - Colle, Arquata del Tronto, Ascoli Piceno, Marche Italy region and their descendants both in Italy and the US.

Pegley(Pagliari)- Italy and US

Hardman, Fortney, Sigley, Bolyard, Burgoyne in US.

My mother's relations are in and around Masontown, Preston, WV where apparently every one there is related by marriage.

My father's relations are in Preston County as well as Gilmer, Ritchie and Wood county.

I have based my information on here by cemetery books, WV vitals and family knowledge. If the Italian name is spelled one way when born, but changed to Americanize it, I put the American name on here with a note of the original spelling. Just because the birth certificate says one thing, when a person dies they could have changed their name-whether it is their first, middle and or last - it happens.

RE: Carmel vs Aurora Cemetery
No, several of the people listed in this cemetery that are listed as being buried in Carmel Cemetery need to be moved to the Aurora Cemetery. This cemetery is known locally as the Pioneer Cemetery, and has a hand full of graves and several stones (as you can tell by the pictures). Some of the folks buried in cemetery that is tagged as Carmel Cemetery are Rev. War Graves. I have a listing, and eventually need to take the time to have things straightened out, but just not right now.

RE: Mount Washington Cemetery
No, I did not walk this cemetery. I added the memorials based on pictures of the tombstones posted on the Fayette Co. site which I was indexing. I didn't own copyright to the photo's so did not post them.

Fortney/Menear
You said your father's mom was related to the Menears. Didn't know if it includes Mary Ola, Albert G. and Samantha Mollisee, Phillip and Sarah McKinney? If so, do you have any photos to post of them?

RE: Samantha Victoria Molissee Menear
There were eleven in my father's family. Lloyd and Mary had Alfred, Sue, and Ralph. Mary died when my Dad was three. Lloyd remarried Jane Deavers Wagner(also buried in Masontown with her first husband John)and they had six kids together along with Jane's two to John Wagner. Lloyd died about seven years after they married, so Alfred stayed on the farm the rest of his life with his stepmother to help her. Jane passed away in1986.

RE: Samantha Victoria Molissee Menear
I don't know when Albert died, but the woman I spoke with on the phone a few days ago said she was told he is buried in Reedsville Cemetery. I saved the 1910 census to my info because it lists my grandmother Mary Ola Menear. On it Lonnie G. Menear is listed as eight years old born 1902 estimated in between Emil and Flo.

RE: Samantha Victoria Molissee Menear
I recall a Catherine Fortney in my family tree, mother of Phillip Menear, my GGGrandF and father of Albert Gustave Menear. I keep forgetting to mention that we have the same first name - spelled almost the same except mine has two n's.

RE: Samantha Victoria Molissee Menear
I live in MD so I only know what she told me on the phone. My father was from Masontown and I haven't visited there in many years. I am still trying to track down someone who has pictures of my relatives on the Menear side- especially my grandmother Mary Ola Menear Haney.
