Have you seen the beautiful gravestones shaped like tree trunks? Some Stones shaped liked Tree Trunks or Stumps
signify that the deceased was a member of The Woodmen of the World. They usually contain other symbols such as anchors, lillies, vines, etc. The company, Woodmen of the World, is still in existence under the name Modern Woodmen of America. I have made a virtual cemetery for them. Not all in my Virtual Cemetery were from Woodmen of the World. The tree trunk design became very popular. If you are aware of any to add to my collection, please let me know. When I started collecting obituaries, I noticed some of my ancestors were members of Woodmen of the World or sometimes they were called Foresters. You will see several in this virtual cemetery who died on the same date in a mining explosion at Jumbo, Oklahoma. My apologies to anyone that photographed a gravestone for me & I neglected to thank. I think I may have missed a few notifications. I truly appreciate your time & effort.
