Bio

I am a descendant o Preston T. Spencer who was born in Patrick County, Virginia and moved to Floyd County, Kentucky... he is my great-grandfather.

If you submitted a legitimate edit request that falls within Find a Grave's FAQs and it was declined, don't worry, Find a Grave will make the final determination. Simply forward the email you received declining your edit request, to [email protected]. Include a brief explanation and press send. It's that easy and it works!

Find a Grave's FAQs are a great resource and they will help you navigate this site.

Find a Grave's Quick Tips:
• Uploading photos
• Memorial naming conventions
• Suggest a correction (SAC) via the edit tab
• About duplicates
• Transferring memorials
• Women married more than once
• No posting of obituaries
• Virtual flowers (NO biographical info)

Find a Grave's policy on transfer requests is that they should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

I have noticed a couple of bad problems with Findagrave... there are far too many duplicate memorials; and, duplicate or incorrectly named cemeteries, although we all make mistakes, and I have been guilty of duplicating a few myself! Most cemetery naming mistakes are made by individuals that don't live in the State and or County in which the burial takes place.

Please check thoroughly to see if there is already a memorial created for someone, before creating a new one, and don't create a cemetery unless your are familiar with the cemeteries in the area of burial! It only takes a short time!

Thank you!

I have been a genealogist and historian since about 1980. I also belong to various Historical Societies.

I have taken between 15,0000 and 20,000 photos of tombstones, primarily in Floyd County, Kentucky. I took the photos between 1999 and 2003, before I knew Findagrave existed. I am now posting memorials using the photos or adding them to memorials already being managed by others.

Last names searching:

Spencer (Ky, VA & MO), Turner (KY, VA)

Hall, Osborne, Howell & Martin (eastern, KY

Please email me with any correspondence.

Any photos that have been posted by me that are not credited to someone else, may be used for personal purposes only, as long as you give me the credit. Please contact me if you'd like because we may be related!

NOTE: Before I post a photo that I did not personally take (which is rare), I request permission. Posting photos that you did not take yourself, or you have not been granted permission to post on Find a Grave (or any other site for that matter) is not allowed.__________________________________________________
Please use the edit tab to contact me concerning any edits you need me to perform on memorials that I manage or for transfers. I typically transfer memorials if I'm not related. If you don't intend to make edits to memorials you ask transfer of then don't ask... I believe one should add photos and other documents if available.
