Born, raised, and still reside in the Martinsville-Henry County area of VA, 50 miles south of Roanoke, VA and 50 miles north of Greensboro, NC. I became familiar with findagrave while doing ancestry research on my own family which, in addtion to Mitchells, includes Bratchers, Scales, Jerkins/Judkins, Metts, Oldfield, Lord, Comins, McCartney, Holman, Scott, Lane, Hayes, Bowden & Lowery. There was so much invaluable information gained from the findagrave site that I decided I'd try to help out other people trying to discover their own roots. As a bonus I've learned a lot of history about and seen a lot of my home county that I had not seen before.
