I am very actively pursuing family information. I maintain an Ancestry.com tree, and my brother and I have family photo sites on Smug Mug, where we display the photos we get from family members and kind souls who share on these programs in hopes of preserving and sharing them with all families who need them. It occurred to me when going through my mother and grandmother's huge trunks full of photos that it was sad for one family to have all those treasures and not share. And, so began my many, many hours of scanning and sharing photos and information.|
I also enjoy visiting other memorials and cemetaries and adding flowers, pictures or data to memorials that have no information, or very little. My husband and I walk through cemetaries quite often, and find the headstones so interesting. I love adding to the history of these people, and it grieves me to find one that says "unknown" on a headstone. Genealogy has become a true passion.
My lines are Duncan, Mather, Dodson, Smith, Moore, Bullion, Curtis, Whitehead, Barron, Reid, and you know how that goes - many more! I am happy to share information and photos with those seeking help, and so very much appreciate all that is shared with me.
I live in the Hill Country of Texas, am married, and enjoying retirement.
Please feel free to use my information and any photos I have posted. I do not understand the fuss about using someone's photos. If they are sacred and personal, then don't post them, is my philosophy. We are all here to help one another and share for this and future generations. So many photos get lost in fires, animals getting into boxes, etc., so why keep them private? After we are all gone, our grandchildren and gr-grandchildren will someday be searching for images and information, and if I took it with me, they would be left at a loss. There are so many members in my family who suffered fires, floods, tornados, and other losses. But, at one time they DID have a photo of "Great Uncle John", however, now due to some unforseen circumstance, it's lost forever..... Think about it.
God bless and and Happy Trails..

I agree with your feelings on sharing. I am sure there will be one in the next generations who will appreciate what we have saved and shared.
I have added your info to their memorials.
Thank you for the kind words.

|Cynthia||Hodges - Conway|
Hi, Interested to know if Glendon D. Hodges was descended from Annie O. Conway and Henry Hodges. I am from the Conway line and the way I trace it is Annie's father was Thomas D. Conway and his father was William Conway and William's father was Gideon and his mother Melinda Edwards. My line would be my father Willie Albert Conway - Harrison Emmett - Samuel Elvis, Charles B. and then Gideon. Do any of those names ring a bell? I thought maybe William and Charles B. were brothers. I am interested in genealogy and just trying to track down people in case they would be able to add information or pictures. Thank you
Cynthia Conway Moore

Hi Lynda, I just sent some updates on James, are you descended from him? If so we are cousins, he was born in Tipton Co. TN. I've been communicating with another Duncan too who is descended from his older brother Jefferson W. Duncan. James and Jeff's mother was Nancy Emeline McBride Duncan and was an older sister to my 2nd g.gr.mother Mary Jane McBride McNair of Tipton Co. TN. I too have a tree on Ancestry and my main thing is doing family tree research. I read your bio on here, exactly my feelings about photos and family history, Kay.

Thanks for the quick update. I didn't know I could make the change myself but I also prefer to not alter data on memorials, unless I am maintaining them. Have a great day!

Please make a correction in the listing for Rutha Maude Rankin memorial # 94998738. She was the daughter of Leslie Marshall Rankin #75256942 and Maudie Angelina Taff #75256154.
She is listed in the 1930 and 1940 San Saba, TX census records with this family.

|Sandy Pohlmeyer||Wedding photo of Fritz|
The photo you have of Fritz and his bride belong to Fritz b. 1885 and his wife Annie Seeker. I have the original photo which was given to me by my father in law. On the back of the photo it states that the photo is of "Brother Fritz and wife (Secker)oldest. I can send you a copy of the back for you if you like.
