Avid genealogist, writer, photographer, librarian, and historian. I've been a genealogical researcher since 1974.|
As a genealogist and historian, I believe it's vitally important to honor our deceased loved ones, and to remember their lives with accurate information. If you find any errors in my memorials, please let me know. My memorials are a work in progress and changes are made frequently as new information is found, so please check back often.
The vast majority of the memorials I've posted are related to me directly, by marriage, or, are dear friends who have gone before me. I'll also post memorials for others found through my research who have no existing memorial on this site. I have many more to add, and numerous pictures to post.
Please visit my Sisters of Christian Charity virtual cemetery in honor of the many religious women who've dedicated their lives to helping others.
My thanks to those who have posted memorials for my relatives who are also yours. Your work has saved me the trouble of scouting cemeteries in hopes of finding that elusive gravestone.
Many thanks, also, for the wonderful people who've built the Find A Grave website and to all who have supported it. Your work is a blessing for many.

Okay, that is good. In the past 3 to 4 weeks, I am finding so many errors on this family, as well as in other Louisiana families. People have connected children to incorrect parents, and in some instances, it is extremely difficult to get the Find A Grave contributor to correct the record. One of them is someone in Louisiana who used the name "Graves." I find that he uses the burial date as the death date, etc. I know that he took over from some other people. Ancestry should really not allow him to have taken over and be in charge, as he ASSUMES too many things without any verification. Once again, thank you.

|Erica Brouillette Simpson||Brouillette Family|
Hi, I am a Brouillette, the child of Arthur Erick Brouillette. My grandfather is Arthur Joseph Brouillette, grandmother is Vera Brouillette. Just curious how you are tied to the Brouillette family. I've been estranged a large part of my adult life from my family because my mother would not let me see them too often as a child. I am not 35 and trying to connect with my ancestry. Any help you could offer would be so very appreciated.

Yes I know this.

Thanks for making the correction. Oddly enough, I happened to have lived in Bethel Park, PA for twelve years while my kids were in grade school (35 years ago). Regards, Mary Lou Stefanko
I am researching some distant relatives and came across your Artigue names on your bio on findagrave.com. Are the Artigue's your relatives? There is so much info for me to include and I don't want to have to write it all out twice so would you please go to Meilleur #47383391 and read the message I just sent to her about her Clarence Peter Artigue and her possible connection to your Artigue's, message is from Tootz. I believe my Artigue's are yours also as the names are so close (the 4 Artigue's on 1 headstone). I look forward to hearing from you.

|Dave Sullivan||Captain Edward Lewis - our shared 4th Great Grandfather|
Dear Alexa, We share a 4th Great Grandfather - Captain Edward Lewis (married to Lydia Lefavour), lost at sea in 1810. That makes us 5th cousins, and I am only two generation removed from Lewis surname. By way of introduction, my maternal grandmother was a Lewis and both my mother and my daughter carry Lewis as their middle christened names. Since retiring, I've become an avid genealogy nut, and have complete stop with our shared Lewis ancestry. I know Captain Lewis's father was a John Lewis (our 5th GG) and mother's first name was Abigail ... however .. is there REALLY any proof that her maiden name was Wood? The original Marblehead documents are unintelligible and other sited genealogical "guesses" say her surname was Union (which is a far cry from Wood). Lastly the trail (back) from John Lewis (our 5th GG) goes cold, and since I don't really know Abigail's maiden name ... that seems to be a dead end (excuse the bad pun) as well. Do you have any information about Captain Edward's parents and grandparents? This is (of course) just a "stab in the dark" from a distant relative. Respectfully, your 5th cousin. Dave Sullivan
ps: which of his three child do you descend ... Thomas of Elizabeth (Lewis) Horton? Again - sent with warmth. Thank you for your time.
