John was born in Kerrville, Texas on October 13, 1976 to Charles Lawrence Baumer and Cynthia Elizabeth (Daggett) Baumer-Loya. He was raised in the little town of Utopia, Texas, where he attended Utopia High School. Upon graduating in 1995, he attended Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde, Texas for two years before transferring to McMurry University, in Abilene, Texas, and completing his college education. His hobbies include reading, computers, and community service. His role model was his late grandmother, Lois Lee (Smith) Baumer. His mother, Cynthia Baumer-Loya, currently resides in Abilene, Texas. His father, Charles Lawrence Baumer, passed away on December 18, 2017. His life partner of 12 years, David Len Comstock, passed away on September 19, 2017. John currently resides in Abilene, Texas and has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology. He is a Hospice volunteer.
