Paternal Grandmother, Alice Dove Smith Clifton, b.9/15/1898 in Afton, Ottawa, Oklahoma. d. 3/07/1969 in Boulder, Colorado, member of Cherokee Nation. Dawes Roll #28532. Guion-Miller Roll #24810 daughter of Henry J. Smith (Dawes #28526, Miller Application #249550).
Henry J. Smith of Grove, OK and 7 children: Willie May, Robert L., Percy W, Margaret R, Alice D, Francis B, Franklin S. Also an older dau.- Myrtlie I. Smith-Warfield, and younger son, Gordon E, (born too late to be enrolled) Henry's claim was through an aunt, Martha E. Horsley, of Maysville, ARK (ap # 1340 - {Drennen #442)
Paternal Grandfather, James T. Clifton, B 9/1/1893 in Fort Gibson, Muskogee Co., Ok. d 9/30/1965 in CO - Moved around the country a bit but finally settled in CO in Wellington and then, Boulder. He was a telegraph operator for the RR, and was also known for his ability to find water by dowsing. He also had a radio show where he sang & played his guitar, and was known as "Cowboy Jack"
