William Henry Beach Hello, I am researching a potential connection between Catherine Butler Bollman (1826-1920) and William Henry Beach (1852-1930). Her will references a mortgage held against William H Beach, which was to be satisfied to the benefit of Mrs. William A Jackson of Campobella, South Carolina.
Catherine Bollman was the daughter of Jeremiah Butler (1802-1865). His sister Catherine Butler (1792-1875) married several times. Her first husband Miles Beach (1781-1820) died in Augusta, Georgia. They reportedly had five children, but I have only identified two - Mary W Beach (1820-1845) and Capt. Henry Miles Beach (1818-1855) (died at sea).
I think the referenced Mrs. William A. Jackson is Mattie Beach Jackson, the daughter of William Henry Beach.
I also am wondering whether the referenced William H Beach is the son of Henry Miles Beach or his brother. However, your find-a-grave info indicates that his parents were J.R. and Sarah Rhodes Beach, both of whom were born in Ohio.
Catherine Butler Bollman and Jeremiah Butler lived in Ohio at one time but both died in Pennsylvania. Catherine Butler Beach Cormish Patterson moved to Ohio after the death of her second husband.
Any information you could share regarding the parents of William Henry Beach would be appreciated. Thank you.
Birthdate for Mary Jane Foster Crocker Hi! I recently came into possession of my great grandfather's journal which was found in a local antique store by a distant cousin. Mary Jane's father was a farmer, teacher, Trial Justice, and assigned to local police duty during the Civil War. In his journal, he made an entry to confirm Mary Jane's date of birth which was August 25, 1863--not 1860 as engraved on her headstone. Her parents had been gone 16 years (father) and 24 years (mother) so probably no one living remembered her birthday. I thought you might like to note this error on the Find-A-Grave page you so generously created for her. Thank you for your work on Find-A-Grave. All of us who search for information about our long-gone relatives appreciate the time and energy you devote to these records!
Blanche Harrell Hi Kelly. I got your request for newspaper name and date of publication for Blanche's obituary. The original of the obituary is at my mother's house. Next time I'm over there I will try to find it again. I think it was Florence Morning News, and most of the obituaries she kept were from them, but I can't be sure. Thanks Jean
Allen family anymore information on the Allen family, I'm Bryan Allen and I'm related to George Allen and Mary Crawford Allen. J. D. Allen was the son of Essie Allen and Thomas Allen. Do you know if anyone is still alive that will have something on the Allen family??
Cole L. Gosnell page Hi Kelly Jane, Just wanted to let you know that Cole L. Gosnell was the step-father of Audrey Maxine Morgan Hartis. Cole L. was a wonderful man who loved and parented Maxine, but he was not her biological father. Is there a way of showing that difference on the F-A-G page? The biological father of Maxine was Malcolm Jefferson Burton (1915-1944), who also has a F-A-G page. Malcolm did not marry Maxine's mother, Leila, and Malcolm did not raise Maxine. Also, Cole L. did have one biological daughter (who is still living), whom he loved and parented along with Maxine. This is Brenda Joyce Gosnell Gibbs. I can send you a photo and info for Cole L. Gosnell if you would like. thanks, Tim Hartis Rock Hill, SC
