Have been a history buff forever. Walking thru cemeteries is a passion as my Step-daughters will attest to. It spurs the imagination. Six years(1999) ago I started researching my family as well my spouse's. Until recently I thought cemeteries were sacred but if they are on private land the owner can do as he likes which is what happened to Elder Cemetery, it was plowed up. We have left the big city to live on my husband's family farm in Ks. We have zebus and scottish highland cows, peacocks, dogs and orchards, super sunsets!

Many thanks for the photo. I live in South Central Texas & the photo means a lot to me. My CUPPs were in Greene County by the early 1840's.

RE: Elder Cemetary
Yes, that looks like a much better guess than Bridget. Could even say Elisabeth. It's on my wish list to someday return to Elder Cemetery with proper tools for clearing the overgrowth and documenting what's left properly. Meanwhile I keep plodding along, concentrating most of my efforts on the find-a-grave website.

Bernalillo Again!
Hi! So there were two cemeteries in Bernalillo that were generally called "Bernalillo Cemetery" and it's confusing, I know. The following headstones are posted in "Bernalillo Cemetery - Also Called Our Lady of Sorrows". They are also posted in "Perea Cemetery - Also Called Old Bernalillo Cemetery." I believe these all belong in Perea (Old Bernalillo) and should be removed from Our Lady of Sorrows (Bernalillo). Hope that makes sense! Email me if you need clarification. Thanks!

Mondragon, Clara (if you'd post your pic next to the memorial I created for her in Perea Cemetery, I'd appreciate it, as it didn't seem to stick and I can't find it on my computer now)

Thanks again and happy Graving,
