Thank you for the edit suggestion J....I've actually messaged the other creator of the dup memorial within minutes of your first suggestion to me & told him when I made the listing earlier that day that there were no other memorials made for John (statewide or nationwide & with/without a middle name). I am extremely thorough in my searches before I make a memorial since I also research the person on Ancestry afterward to find any other pertinent info to add & don't want to waste my time if someone else has already started the effort. A half an hour after making the memorial, I linked him to his wife (again, with no duplicates found in the entire cemetery)....and then I received your edit email. After sending an email w/basically the same info above to the other creator, he linked John to his wife within 10 minutes, but never responded to me. My cousin Erin Duyck sent out his obit notices that day at 10:30 in the morning & I had John up within a few minutes of that since my cell alerts me.

It's no sweat tho...I'm just here to preserve memories & have fun. I'm finding that haggling over 'who has how many cookies' is certainly *not* any fun - nobody likes their parade rained on I suppose, lol. This is actually my first encounter with a dup. mem. - especially one created the same day, so I'm really not sure what to do or even what the policy is. A creation time-stamp instead of just a date would really help about now, lol :/

Thx J - I welcome the help!

RE: Mortimer Brown
Thanks for being careful, let's double check.

What does seem fairly certain is (both according to the DC and where the family lived--as matches the parents listed on the DC) Mortimer James was born Richland, Colefax, Nebraska. The death certificate lists Ethel as his wife. The WWI record in question lists Mortimer James as married to Ethel M. in 1917. In addition the WWI record shows him as a Forest ranger. This matches the 1920 census where M. J. Brown a Forest Ranger of Michigan / Ohio parentage is m. to and Ethel with two kids Shirley and Jean. This matches the parents stated in the death certificate.

The 1930 census shows Shirley and Jean and now a third dau. Carol Brown living with their mother Ethel and a step-dad Leland Robert Cattermole. I have found Ethel's burial and will send.

The Mortimer J Brown who is DEC and from Chester, Thayer, Nebraska is the son of Olim L Brown who is from Illinois and Bell Brown of MN. The parentage does not seem to match.

The DC we have shows our Mortimer James is bur. Sunset Park Cemetery.

Whatever the birthdate this should not be the Chester Nebraska Mortimer Brown.

Question in General
Hi J,
Could you possibly email me so I can have your email address to contact you? With ALL your memorials I'm assuming your pretty knowledgeable and I had a question I wanted to ask...
My address is svandehey@comcast.net (also on my profile). I would really appreciate a few minutes of your time if possible. :-)

Thx, Sherry

RE: cemetery Mills County, Iowa
I lived only 3 miles from Silver City but went to Mineola most of the time. What was your mother's maiden name? I am not familiar with the Pollitt name.

Davis memorial
Finding more info for Mrs. Davis's memorial wasn't easy since there was so little readily available; hope you appreciate it being gathered for you so Mrs. Davis's memorial can be more complete (as everyone's deserves to be, if possible).
