Bio Photo As a child, I took it in stride to visit cemeteries with my great-grandmother, my grandparents, and my parents. It was a ritual of sorts, stopping by to pay respects to those who had passed on, leaving garden flowers, then pulling in somewhere along the way back home to enjoy perhaps a hot dog or an ice cream cone. In my own way, I still do this. Thanks to all who have added photographs and tokens to my contributed pages!

RE: Thora Leas
Hi Wilma Ann,

Thank you,I'm glad you've taken the time to set things up for her.

Just to frame things, Thora and her sisters became orphans after their father died mid 1890's. Their mom, Emma was sent to the Peoria Hospital where she probably died, sad story. I'm in the process of trying find the burial site of Thora's parents, but its a very hard nut to crack.

"Located the 1910 census record in Peoria, IL for Thora, who was living with Delaney & Emma Whittemore"

Do you know anything about the Whittemore family? Chester is also shown living with them.

Thanks & Regards,

Thora Leas
That doesn't look like Thora, it looks like Emma Hartter, her daughter. I will upload a picture of Thora and you can compare the two.

RE: Henry D.Leas - FAG # 40308914
Thank you so much for this information. William Blake is my great Uncle. William "Oscar" Blake. I have recently located him and Rachel, as well as their son William Earl and his wife Grace. I have been working on my paternal side of the family. I am still searching (going on year number three) for my third generation great grandparents who were the parents of William. Charles and Louisa Blake. I have found my other Uncles. Very familiar with seeing Mineral, WV throughout census records. I have the 1930 census you are speaking of as well. My grandparents were last known to be in WV and lost one child in 1886 there and their last child was born in 1887 there. I have found both of them, but still no grandparents. At least now I know a little more on Rachel. Thank you very much. When I saw Henry "Leas" I just had to ask because it is not often at all that I actually see someone who may have a relation as well. Thank you so much.

Mr. Shippee 27014186

I have been working on family tree and also reading memorials here at Find A Grave when I came across Mr. Shippee. If I might direct your attention to Mr. James Burklow # 52628108, my great great great grandfather. I was wondering if Mr. Shippee was kin folk of yours. It looks like they might have served together during the civil war. If related would you happen to know Mr. Shippee's campaign record during the war?

Thank You,

RE: Memorial # 140719613
Hi Wilma, you are most welcome, would you like to manage his memorial?
Also, I just created a memorial in Springdale for "John Lea". There is no additional info noted on the source I have for this burial. Springdale has a link on their website for requesting info if you want to pursue it. From looking at your Ancestry tree, the age fits for him being related to your GG Grandfather if he is actually a Leas.
Thanks for the nice note! Feel free to contact me via my email.

Emma Deibert Gilham Paxson
My Gr grandaunt was (I believe) the stepmother of Emma Deibert Gilham Paxon. Her name was Emma Kline Gilham.
She married Daniel Y. Gilham, a widower who had two daughters aged 7 [Emma Deibert GILHAM] and 8 [Maud GILHAM. Their mother was named Mary DEIBERT Gilham. Emma KLINE Gilham and Daniel Y. Gilham had 2 sons. Does anyone know anything about the family of Emma KLINE Gilham? Any clues would be appreciated. I believe my Gr Gr grandmother was her sister Mary Kline. My Gr. Gr. grandmother was named Mary Amanda Kline born in 1846. I will not continue this any further, but would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have info on the Kline family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this message.
