|Dick Scheit||Matilda Loretta Buttes Allen Boardman|
Hello again Ruth.
Do a search for Warren Allen on Ancestry. Look at the 1830 Fed Census, Warren Allen Luzerne, Warren County, New York. This will lead you to Find A Grave listing.. Warren Allen ( 1792 - 1831) Warren Count, New York..
Find A Grave Memorial# 32287172
Click on his wife Matilda..
Find A Grave Memorial# 32042967
We have this family story:
After her marriage to John Boardman, they moved westward with the Boardman and Allen children. In 1850 they were in Wyoming County, Illinois and by 1854 they were living in Benton County, Iowa.
Look at the children of Warren and Matilda and than look the the child of John Boardman and Matilda...
Further on Ancestry - If you look at a Allen listing in another Gen Tree file ... Weston and Allied Family tree you will see all of the 7 Allen kids and the name Matilda Loretta Buttles. If you look further you will see that John and Matilda married about 1837,,
I have seen her listed in other Family Trees also..
If you search for John Boardman and look at the 1850 Federal Census, they are living in Wyoming County, ILL, with two of the Allen Children.
I think that should do it. I'll continue my search for a possible marriage date for Warren and Matilda but right now, 1817 or 1818. Their first son Isaac was born in 1818.
|Dick Scheit||RE: Correction for Matilda Boardman|
I found that Matilda Loretta Buttes first married Warren Allen. They had 7 children. Warren died in 1831.
The son of John and Matilda, Howard was born in 1841.
After Warren died she married John Boardman and they moved West from New York. The came thru Ohio, ILL and on to Iowa.
Thank you for the obituary transcript; I've added it as you requested.

|A.Firefly||Martin Kelly in Holy Cross, Colma|
Could this be the senator? I can't say, I think it's safe to add the senator, but just as a semi-educated guess, I'd think that he was buried in Calvary, and one of the Holy Cross Martin Kelly entries is entered with a re-burial date. I have seen a few where a person was put in a receiving vault at Calvary, then moved to Holy Cross when the Mausoleum or new family plot was complete, a few months later. I just can't say. I do see that there are two Martin Kellys in plot E 10 1. They have different dates of death, but the same year. 8/10/1890 saw 8 burials in that plot, so it's certainly a large set of re-burials. As time goes by I'd think records will come forth and if the senator is in there two times, it's not due to carelessness, just muddled records.
Just my two cents. ; )
|Gary Gibson||John Gibson of Scotland|
John Gibson of Scotland was in southeast Ohio after 1810. His first wife died shortly after their son,George W.Gibson was born. On census records,Geo. Said he was born in New York and his mother was also. George was raised by Timothy and Elizabeth Hiett in Washington Co. Ohio. He was born 1816 and died in 1894. John Gibson Married Second,Ann Poe and Had other children. Thanks,Gary D. Gibson
|Gary Gibson||Gibson Family|
Have you tracked the Gibson family in Scotland? My line of Gibsons also came from Scotland. My 3rd. greatgrandfather,John Gibson was born about 1790-1795 in Scotland,and I thought he could be related to Hugh Gibson that was born in 1800. Thanks for your postings on Find A Grave. Gary D. Gibson
|Mary Sue Fickes||Daisy Fickes Whittier|
Daisy Whittier's maiden name should be spelled Fickes. Thank you for correcting that.
