The profile image is the Abraham Lincoln Tomb at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. Come to Springfield to see it!

I am relatively new to genealogy research, but I have always had an interest in genealogy. I am exploring my Sykes, Settle, Wofford and McGee lines in Stewart County, Tennessee.

Find A Grave is a great help in my genealogy research. I want to "pay it forward" by documenting local cemeteries.

I am working on biographies for the memorials under my management. Name, dates and a photograph of the marker seems incomplete in summarizing and honoring someone's life. Some life stories are inspiring; some are sad; and some are bad.

Most of the biographies on the memorials were created from information published in newspaper articles and/or obituaries. However, the newspaper sometimes has misspellings and errors. The biographies are transcribed as published, and misspellings are noted when known. Some misspelled names and places may have been missed.

The names of living relatives in recent obituaries have been omitted to protect the privacy of the descendants per Find A Grave rules.

Please contact me if you have more information on any of my entries or if you have corrections. Errors and typos happen. Incorrect information is worse than no information in genealogy work.

I am glad to update the memorial and link to family members. Please use the 'Edits' tab on the memorial to suggest a correction.

Feel free to use photographs I posted on the site for personal use only. That is why they are posted. Please add credit, such as "Used with the permission of photographer, Darrin Moore." Contact me if there is a photo you would like removed from a memorial.

The following is a poem by Vachel Lindsay.

A PRAYER TO ALL THE DEAD AMONG MINE OWN PEOPLE

Are these your presences, my clan from Heaven?
Are these your hands upon my wounded soul?
Mine own, mine own, blood of my blood, be with me,
Fly by my path till you have made me whole!
