My family is fascinatingly mixed: cigar makers ( a lot) and emperors (a few); heroes and deserters; maids and immigrants; bastards and even one ... bishop - that was not so difficult in the Middle Ages.
Our DNA is flexible sacred;)

Life is not always a fairy tale dream and neither was the life of my ancestors. I want to honor their courageous lives with their human shortcomings by giving them a face and a story. "Een smoel" in dutch.

My family archive is not my property, so I try to share as much as possible. Main reason: the more people who "own" it, the greater the chance of its surving.....
