I accidentally came upon the Find A Grave website! I was amazed at how much new direction it has provided me with on my genealogy search. I started my genealogy research about 30 years ago just as a hobby, but it now has become more of a 2nd occupation for me. I love being able to help people with their research and at the same time it helps me with mine. I have been adding my family members info to FindAGrave in the hope that their story will endure. I try to ensure that the memorials I add are correct! That is one of my pet peeves! I want my memorials to be more than merely a beginning date and an end date in someone's life! I want to paint a broader picture of that person. Since this is a living memorial, I want it to be just that! To show that the person did live, have a family, etc. So, I try to only add a memorial once all the facts have been verified as accurate and when I have a short bio of the person. Sometimes, there is nothing more than a birth date and death date and that is all. If I make a mistake on a memorial, please contact me so that I can edit it and make it correct! I appreciate any and all help in this journey of mine. The people I enter on FindAGrave ARE my family members! I take good care of them, but if anyone has more info on my memorials, I welcome the addition of information. Just send a message on the SAC (Suggest A Correction) for their memorial.
