I become interested in researching my own past in 2012. The last of my grandparents had died in 2010 and my parents, aunts and uncles had some conflicting memories. Being that I like to have clear answers I started researching and was amazed at what I found. My new found hobby led to my researching a friend's line who had deep ties to the immediate area. Today, in 2013, I'm just starting to visit the cemeteries that are either close to my home or those that hold my or friends' ancestors.
