Bio

I can't remember how young I was when I became interested in genealogy. One of my aunts used to work on genealogy way before all the computer programs were available. I remember her bringing a hand drawn pedigree chart to a family reunion. My first attempt after that was using a database in a class in high school to create my own record of family names, dates and names of spouses. There was finally an actual genealogy program I found online that was free around 1991 - 1996. I later was able to purchase a copy of Ultimate Family Tree which I still use to add descendants of various family lines. I have previously also used a family tree app that used to exist on Facebook. I also used rootsweb years ago to upload the gedcom files from the projects I have on Ultimate Family Tree. I had created an account on Ancestry back in 2003. I never really used it until July of 2014. I now have an extensive tree on Ancestry as well as it allows me to show unusual connections in relatives and ancestors. I previously also found that I could use the windows live contact list on an old Nokia Lumia 710 to save information on individuals such as their birthdates, anniversaries, spouses & children as well as a photo. I used to live in Coralville, Iowa. The photos from Oak Hill Cemetery were actually taken back in 2003. I just hadn't found out about Find A Grave back then. I originally came across Find a Grave as it had popped up in one of my searches. (That was back around October 2012.) I am now sharing the memorials on family pages on my Facebook and searching for any relatives that don't have memorials yet and having their information added. I now have access to many of the cemeteries around the Denver metro. I have also recently started going to the Aurora Genealogical Society Library at the Aurora Public Library and have gone to some of their presentations and meetings. I took a look at FamilySearch again and have started working on people who are on there that have missing sources and information and adding people who are connected but not on FamilySearch yet. It will take awhile to add everyone that I have found information and sources for on Ancestry. I have been working on individuals and families on the FamilySearch tree for a bit now. Just not as long as I have been using Ancestry. I started using WikiTree also back in March of 2021. I have looked at and somewhat started using Geni. However, I don't care for it's format compared to what is available on the FamilySearch tree, WikiTree and Ancestry.
