Please give this old (loud, a little odd, usually tired) volunteer a little extra time to get to your edits. Sometimes it takes me about 3 weeks or so to get to the edits. I'm not ignoring them; I'm probably pooped and in bed, or on the road visiting Kinfolk or doing Genealogy stuff. I'm on it! I swear!

I love looking for family, no matter how far removed. It's just flat fun! My main interest, however, are Geer's, Hodge's, Hampton's, Cargo's, Walker's, Simmons', Sala's, Snyder's, and any attachments of said families.

I became a little hooked on taking pictures out in Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, Colorado back in 2011. I do so love UHC. One day I'll have photos of every Headstone out there up on Findagrave, and will have connected my peeps buried out there to each other. It was the Little Ones who got me hooked. "Where's your Momma, Baby? Where's your Papa?" Drove me nuts, so I started trying to find Momma's and Daddy's. I'm now a lost cause.

All of this with a full-time job that I'm on-call for 24/7, bowling on Thursdays (which I really suck at, but somebody's got to be the Team Handicap), gardening (both flowers & veggies), and riding bikes with my husband, John, in the mountains on my beloved Harley, Pookah.

So, this is how I get started on tracking and linking the Folks in Union Highland Cemetery.

1. I notice the Vahldick's and Cowperthwaite's are buried in the same Lot. Gee, why is that?

2. There's only one other Vahldick in the Cemetery, Miss Sadie, and, why lookie there!, her grave is right next to Edward & Mary Ann Cowperthwaite waaaay on the other side of the cemetery. Two separate Vahldick's by two separate Cowperthwaite's. Bet that means something.

3. Harold's father was born in Illinois; his mother was born in England. Sadie Vahldick was born in England IF she is a Cowperthwaite.

3. In the 1910, 1920 & 1930 census', Mr. Harold Vahldick is living with Mr. David R. Davis. Harold is David's nephew. Oh, gee! Mr. David R. Davis's Lot is right behind Mr. Harold R. Vahldick's plot. Nephew, huh? That means Mr. David R. Davis is married to Harold's mother's sister.

4. Mr. David R. Davis is married to Miss Joan. I'll bet Miss Joan is a Cowperthwaite, etc. etc.
