If I have a memorial that is not in my family research I will gladly transfer upon request. I know Find A Grave has guidelines, but some volunteers take it too seriously and never consider the years (in my case, decades) of researching ancestors and what it means to manage a memorial of an ancestor. Sometimes creating memorials leave out the real purpose of this website: to connect ancestors with living family members. Those that create memorials will pass on; why not transfer memorials to family members so that their descendants can maintain the memorials in the future. Once a contributor has passed, which shall happen, there is no guarantee that the memorial will be maintained.
