RE: John Ross Carter Mary I have searched Ancestry.com and not found any trees that list children for John and Sarah Carter. I did not check all the public trees but did a random check but found nothing.
Unknown burial grounds I too, get frustrated at times, but I listed about 30 folks in 2009 with no known cemetery. Last week, someone found a church memorial garden that had all of my entries listed. So, even after 7 years, there is still hope they will have a final resting place...
I spend many hours every week connecting the families on Find A Grave in the cemeteries in NW Ala and Lauderdale County, Ala. I was raised in Colbert and live in Lauderdale.
In my endeavors I run across much work being done by Joyce Favor (who I don't know). She does excellent work.
Having said that, here is my suggestion. All of Joyce's duplicates I have observed are much more detailed than the original memorials.
Perhaps you could get her to transfer those which are duplicates of yours and you then could delete those you created originally. Or maybe just copy all of her info into yours and then get her to delete hers.
RE: James and Jeremiah Pewitt Have looked at the marriage record for James and Mary. The date on the document is 3 August 1877. There is another record for James Pewitt and Nannie Hay, who I believe was a sister to Mary, dated Jan 1872. The other name on this record is John A Pewitt. Both James and John A signed this bond for the marriage to Nannie. One daughter, Savannah was born from the marriage in 1873.
