On September 22, 2007, I married my second wife, Karen J (Thurber) Murphy. Karen is the widow of Wayne E Murphy (1952-2001/Memorial #37248763) and has 2 children, a son age 26 and a daughter age 23.

A quick note: To add an internal link in the biography, you would need to type

(I put this here because I use it frequently and am tired of digging for it in the FAQ.)

Thanks for the offer of transfer, but I am not related to any of your memorials so far. I have a few more to move from Hill to Blandford Cemetery and I will send edits. Thank you.
|J. Bean||Sarah (Ashley) Ingersoll|
Several years ago you added a headstone for Sarah (Ashley) Ingersoll at Old Burying Ground Cemetery. Recently someone read the caption that you had added for the headstone and let me know that the headstone does not match the dates on my memorial, so I am afraid that it is the wrong headstone for my Sarah Ingersoll. Could you please remove the photo that you added. Maybe you could create a new memorial and add it to that one so that it will be available to other family members someday. I really appreciate that you took the time to look for Sarah, but sadly this is not the correct one for her. Thank you

If I made an error in the transcription section, I am fine as it agrees to the stone. Thank you.
|George Harger||RE: Blandford/Hill|
Thank you for changing cemetery location. Also, please move Captain William Knox (59527130) to Blandford Cemetery. Hill and Blandford Cemeteries are easily confused, and there are many misplaced and duplicated memorials, which I am fixing before an Oct visit there. I am not related, to the Knox family, so transfer is not requested.

I changed the birth year back to 1778, thanks for letting me know.
|Virginia||RE: Aseneth/Asenath Chapin|
Thanks for your reply. I am indeed a descendant of Asenath through both Chapin and Smith lines. (They were always inter-marrying.) Asenath and Silas Smith, Jr. were my 6th gg. Silas, Jr is one of my DAR Patriots.
I have an original (family-owned and tattered) copy of "The Chapin Genealogy, Descendants of Dea. Samuel Chapin" by Orange Chapin, 1862. Asenath is spelled with an 'a" on pgs 190, 194. Take your pick!
I'll send you an e-mail.
Virginia Smith Alexander.

Hi,Dave Iforgot to tell you about "Ours".edited by Captain Joseph Keith Newell.This is the book I've been using to try to find soldiers of 10th regiment from West Springfield.All soldiers that are buried in West Springfield are listed on Find A Grave.Thanks to Find A Grave I was able to find James Hills buried at Andersonville and veterans who moved to Cal.

Hi,Dave,Park St . Cem. is unlocked right now.We try to keep it unlocked because we feel there is less vandalism.The kids use it as a shortcut to the baseball court behind it.I did fill out a police report about the White stone being vandalized again.We just had it repaired!!!I think Tamara,the gravestone repairer will want it locked.I went in there 3 yrs ago and pulled out 500 barrels of trash.Yes,I am local-I live on Kings Highway,West Springfield.I was just appointed to Historical Commission because of my interest in cemeteries.2 teens and myself pulled tombstones away from church.Yes,they were being used for rainwater.They better not try that again.The Smiths buried here in Park St. are part of my family tree.Also the Smiths buried in Westfield are part of my family tree.I have heard of the Mass. Gen. Society.

Hi,Dave,yes this is what I wanted for her.Also the CIVIL WAR MONUMENT has been restored and added to Meeting House Hill.Our CPA money is still working at Park St. Cem.It will be interesting to see how these stones look.All the ones that will be repaired are flagged with a blue flag.The first part of grant was finished and WHITE monument was restored.It lasted 1 week before it was vandalized again.I filled out a form at police station reporting this damage.Next step will be security cameras and more lights.If we chain gate,vandals climb over fence.Thank you for all you do.
