I do genealogical research and love to go to cemeteries. Valhalla Cemetery is 10 mins. from my house so I go there a lot.Other cemeteries I go to are Forestlawn - Hollywood Hills, Forestlawn - Glendale, Mt. Sinai - Hollywood Hills, Grandview -Glendale, Los Angeles National Cemetery, Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood and sometimes to Ft. Rosecrans National Cem. in San Diego.My pride and joy is doing research on all the Burbank boys who were killed in WWII, Korea & Vietnam from the City of Burbank who are listed on our local war memorial and also the boys from the City of Glendale, California that were killed. I aslo enjoy taking pictures of Medal Of Honor Headstones. The Surnames I am researching are: Mustion, Hilton, Miller,Coursey, Overturf, Cordell, Crouch, Longnecker, Freeland, Coldiron, Edwards, Hansen, Woodson, Jarrett, Arman, Vernor, Perry, Lock.|

|Retired Dude||John Busby Miller|
The stone on John Bushy Miller's grave is incorrectly spelled. I can't believe family didn't notice, although the stones are placed long after the graveside service.
I am a descendent of his (I was born 2 weeks after his death). He is my great-uncle. You can check just about any documentation on him to verify what I'm saying. This was a name passed down many times in my ancestry line (I don't yet know the origin, but just check for John Bushy Millers in Pennsylvania and you'll see LOL).
I believe I know the source of this error: on his registration card it looks much like "Busby" - the "h" resembles a "b." But here's just a couple of examples if you don't believe me:
1. Here is an ancestry.com link to the California Death Index: http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=5180&h=5014712&ssrc=pt&tid=71608452&pid=34242333852&usePUB=true
2. Here is an ancestry.com link to his WW1 Registration (that's right, lucky him) http://person.ancestry.com/tree/71608452/person/34242333852/facts
There are plenty more evidence if you need it. I don't know if he ever said anything or if he even knew about this.

Bad news, Linda. I was at Inglewood this morning, and discovered that Lauren does not have a headstone. I will be adding a photo of the area only, with a sprig of artificial flowers to mark the spot. I hate when that happens! I think everyone deserves to have their grave marked. Sorry this one was not a more positive outcome.
