Fallen Graver

Sadly, Kathleen Peck Probasco Ketchum has passed away. Please consider visiting their Find a Grave memorial page and leaving some virtual flowers. Their enthusiasm for cemeteries and willingness to help future generations lives on through their contributions to Find a Grave.

Bio

My Idaho entries are from Latah County Idaho cemetery transcriptions done in the early 1980's by the Latah County Genealogical Society [now defunct]. Please remember that my book includes transcriptions only through 1980 and that I entered them on this site before we were able to include relationship links. Volunteers are working to catch up on more recent burials in Latah County.

I welcome corrections/additions to the memorials I've entered (especially relationship links). Please send them to [email protected].

I'll be pleased to transfer management of any of the Idaho memorials to family members. I have no family buried in this state, but rather worked on this project because I wanted to help other researchers.

I retired as catalog editor for the University of Idaho in 2001, volunteered at a local used bookstore after that, and bought the establishment in 01/07. I sold the store 01/10, but continue there as a "occasional volunteer and consultant."

I love helping other people make connections and believe Find a Grave is one great site to make that happen!

P.S. I remarried on 5/12/08 and am now Kathleen Peck Probasco Ketchum. Finding my twin soul at age 62 is a miracle!

P.S.2 My twin soul died 8/24/09. We had a wonderful 15 months together, but his heart was too severely damaged to stay here any longer. I will remember him forever.

P.S.3 On 5/3/10, an excellent penpal found me through this site. He wrote because I had entered a memorial for his g-g-g-grandfather and we've been corresponding ever since. You just never know what's going to happen on Find a Grave!

P.S.4 In 1/2012, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Had a lumpectomy and radiation therapy, but it has now spread to the brain and perhaps elsewhere. Good news, though -- my SoCal penpal and I are still talking on the phone almost every night!

P.S.5 On 8/1/12, I had a Gamma Knife focused radiation procedure (non-invasive gamma rays on the small brain lesion--Google it, please, if you are interested). No definite signs of cancer anywhere else now. Feeling good - ONWARD and UPWARD!

P.S.6 I found out in early October that I have a compression fracture of the T-11 vertebra, perhaps from one of my falls (coordination problems from the brain lesion). It has been one of a heck of a spring and summer 2012. However, I'm still optimistic, am getting stronger every day, and am ready to be productive again!
