Bio

As a genealogist and local historian, I have been researching the people and communities of central Illinois since 1975. My special interests are the early settlers of Sangamon and Menard Counties, IL.

I am also the webmaster for World War II Marine Photographic Squadron VMD-154. This USMC squadron was stationed at Camp Elrod on Espiritu Santo Island, New Hebrides (now known as Vanuatu) in the South Pacific. Flying in B-24 Liberators on aerial reconnaissance missions, this squadron mapped the South Pacific and monitored Japanese activities. I have another site here at Find A Grave under the name VMD-154 Association that is devoted entirely to the deceased members of this squadron.

Through Find A Grave, I have been able to memorialize some of my ancestors and early settlers of several central Illinois counties, as well as the brave men of USMC Squadron VMD-154. If anyone can add further details or photos for the individuals in my memorials, please contact me.

If you have time, please leave a flower for my mother, Mildred E. Hart Naschinski and my father, Emil Fredrick Naschinski.
