I started researching my family history after my mother died from a hereditary disease but got hooked and have been climbing the family tree for over 30 years. I hope I have contributed to the family history for generations to come.
I am a volunteer with the Portage Community Historical Society and they have allowed me to have a genealogy and historical research area in the Goin Museum. If you have an early Portage Township family, consider donating a copy of your family history to our museum.

A Daisy Beside the Rose by Diana Sue Lindley Horton
Among the many flowers, God, Within Your garden fair, May I, a simple daisy be So proudly standing there.
I need not be the most admired, Great beauty to disclose; It's certain in Your garden,God, Not all can be a rose.
'Twould be to me an honor, If where Your garden grows, I could but be a daisy - That stands beside the rose.
RE: Myrna Leininger Hi, Kathy! I'm Myrna's step daughter. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I believe you've helped me in the past with info about the Augsburg Cemetery for my husband's family. Lori Samuelson
Harry Phillips Hello Kathy, What Harry Phillips are you referring to? I have several that I manage. If you can be more specific in your query detail, I might be able to answer your question! Thank you for all you do for Find A Grave!
Elmer A. Lenburg Kathy, While at an antique shop in Chesterton, I picked up two photos of Elmer Lenburg. The first is the wedding photo you posted of his wife and him. The second is of the wedding party including his brother Don and Connie Smith. If you'd like both photos--free, tell me where to snail-mail them and they're yours. I hope to hear from you soon. Cyrena Sterling McCool I was so happy to find this and read the history of my great-great-great grandmother. The Anah McCool mentioned in the article was the aunt of my grandmother, Anah McCool Stelzer. My mom and dad named me after Cyrena but changed the spelling as they said they didn't want me to be nicknamed "Cy". I have always loved my name.
