I live in Florida, am a retired Insurance underwriter. Now I am into genealogy big time! This "find a grave site" just begged for me to enter all the ancestors I could. Nobody else in my immediate family seems interested. Rather than have it all be wasted, I want it on the internet for any relatives of future generations who might want it. Hoping also, that I may find those elusive ancestors when somebody else enters them! I absolutely love it when someone adds flowers or a picture of the tombstone to my entries.

RE: Martha (Finch) Mead
Hi, Here is where I found the information. If you want me to mail a copy, send me an envelope with at least 2 stamps to:
Junel Davidsen, CG
PO Box 10816
Salinas, CA 93912

Family History Library microfilm can be ordered into any Family History Center. Microfilm roll numbers have been given:
Fairfield County, Connecticut, Probate Packets, McNally-Meeker, B., Contents of Estate of Jonathan Mead, dec’d; FHL microfilm 1018765; Records of Town of Greenwich, Fairfield Probate District, 1648-1880, archived Connecticut State Library (original handwritten court records)

Spencer P. Mead, Abstract of Probate Records at Fairfield, vol. 5, ‘Probate Records, 1702-1750,’ p. 197 and vol. 7, ‘Probate Records, 1721-1750,’ p. 67, FHL microfilm 4197 (same book, same microfilm) Samuel Finch's probate abstract is also in the book/microfilm mentioning a daughter, Martha Mead, vol. 4, ‘Probate Records, 1702-1750,’ p. 95

While the abstracts may be easier to read, it is not as obvious that the abstracts of different dates pertain to the same person. To be clear, you should look at the original court records.

Sincerely, Junel

Martha (Finch) Mead
Jonathan's widow Martha was mentioned when the estate was distributed in 1727/28 so she was probably still alive.
Jonathan probably died early in 1712 because the inventory was taken in March. Estate was not distributed until later. The probate packet has more details.
