I am a family genealogist who went looking for some answers to some old family stories. A fire in my grandparents home when my mother was a child destroyed the family records and photos so I had little to nothing to go on. When I started my search back in the 90's the genealogy resources were just not as user friendly as they are today and I shelved the task. After my mother became interested in finding her long lost ancestors and picked up the search I decided to jump back in and see if I could help her. In about a year we went from having identified about 2 dozen of our ancestors to more than 4000! I have been abundantly blessed with ancestors now. Most of our American ancestors helped to settle the New England area, primarily Massachusetts, south Vermont and upstate New York as well as settling New France, now known as Canada. Unfortunately fate has landed me far from there in the state of Texas. We have made many pilgrimages back to the lands my ancestors helped settle and have been blessed with meeting many wonderful new friends and cousins.
