Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Oklahoma and now have returned there in retirement. I have a B.S. in Business and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering. I spent a lifetime in Federal service, first in the Air Force as a commissioned officer, retiring as a Colonel, as subsequently as a member of the Senior Executive Corps at the Pentagon. I have been actively involved in genealogy since childhood, and have continued that interest to the present time. I am a descendent of a Mayflower Pilgrim. I continue to work tenaciously on my own lines, always searching for some piece of information that I might not have, plus as a matter of courtesy, I have traced lines for hundreds of friends and acquaintenances. I am a strong advocate of the pursuit of family history for all people. We are the product of our ancestors, and therefore, I believe that it is important that we each preserve and share the unique story of our family. We can only fully understand who we are if we also understand from whom and from where we came.

Use the "Suggest a Correction" feature on the appropriate memorial to submit information or any requests. I follow the Find-A-Grave guidelines regarding the transfer of memorials. Any transfer requests should only be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
If you send me a request for transfer of a memorial, please explain exactly how you are related.

Memorial #124779652
Thank you so much Nancy for the memorial you put together for my dad. You did an awesome job with that, appreciate that more than you know. I want to show this to my wife and if we need to add anything, will let you know shortly. He had a couple of accomplishments in the Army that were not well known, and my dad didn't talk about them much. I want to make sure those things are mentioned. And some historical data related to his military service. Thanks for contacting me, glad you are doing well. Will keep in touch. Take care and God bless!!

RE: Northwest Cemetery - Athol, Ma
Nancy, just click on the map tab at the top of the cemetery page and it will show where the cemetery is - I did not name this cemetery - it is named on Google maps - there is no sign there. Also, I believe it is in David Lambert's book on Massachusetts cemeteries, but I don't have access to that book at this time - I did find several grave photos I took there in my files so perhaps I will get them entered in the next few weeks - got several other things on my plate right now.

Philip Johnson
Re: Hosea B Rice
Found his records.
He died of Brights Disease 6 JAN 1892 in Athol, buried in Orange. ref Athol death records, page 517.
Since he was a Civil War Vet, they placed a headstone at North Pond Cemetery in Orange, Mass. I do not know where that one is.

RE: Rev. William F. Franks
My deepest apologies for the lateness of this reply. My dad recently passed away on 11-03-2013 he is Ruth Jane Franks Allen's grandson. His passing has hit me harder than I thought it would. I've also lost a nephew on 11-13 Brandon Paul Van Winkle my dad's grandson. He also had a half sister Peggy Schanze who passed on 12-06. Her dad was married to my grandmother Opal Mae Allen Weigman (her 2nd marriage). His name is George Washington Kalousek. Will send id nbr on his in a separate communication. The id nbr for Ruth Jane Franks Allen is #64725228. For James W. Allen is #64725182. Virgil Andrew Allen is #113994114. John Willard Allen is #68383593. Owen Lee Allen is #64725607. Opal Mae Allen Weigman Kalousek Hubbard is #58896186. Woodrow Wilson Allen is #68871752. This gives you the record you you requested plus more (Ruth's Children). Hope you are doing well Nancy. Hope to hear from you soon. Take care and God bless!!..Howard Weigman

William Jones
James Johnson
Nancy, first of all thank you for putting all the information of the Find a Grave Site. I am researching James Johnson, father of Ruben George Johnson. I see that you list Ruben's parents as James Johnson and Jane "Jinsey" Mirror. I believe that Jane's maiden name was Minor not Mirror. Her father would be Elias Minor that came from South Carolina to Alabama about the time of her birth. James and Jinsey are my great great grandparents. How did you obtain the name Mirror? Is it possible that it was just poor handwriting somewhere for Minor? I can be contacted at PS I believe that James Johnson's middle name is Aron. Thanks, Bill

Frank McDaniel
Nancy....I'm not really looking for info on the Lemings. It is the family of Ben and Lil....their children, etc. My info shows Sybil, Joe M., Margaret, David and the late B. F., Jr. They would have been my first cousins. I have no recollection of ever meeting them, even though they took RV trips to GA quite frequently, I'm told. I was born in the 50's so there's a big age difference.

My tree on is private as I promised my siblings when I started researching that I would keep it that way. So I understand there are private folks who do not want to provide information. Anyway, thanks for replying. If anyone changes their mind, I'd be happy to hear from them and share information on the departed.

B. F. "Frank" McDaniel, Jr.
Nancy: I just saw the addition. This is the person I was looking for. I descend from the Charles McDaniel/Madge Leming marriage in Rome, GA. I have been helping my 82 year old cousin in Cave Spring, GA try to find Sybil. I would love to connect with anyone from Aunt Lil and Uncle Ben's line. Could you put me in touch with someone? Thanks.

RE: Joseph Ben Hedgecock - 48549066
Nancy, Jeri Ann Hedgecock McVay parents were Jerry Hugh Hedgecock and Betty "Joan" Joanna Gardner-they were divorced November, 1970, Santa Clara, California. Jerry remarried another woman also named Joan-don't know her last name. They live in Washougal, Washington-I don't know if Aislinn McVay knows when they got married-she had told me at one time they got married in New Jersey.
Jeri Ann Hedgecock married Jeffrey Lee McVay March 31, 1951, San Mateo, San Mateo, California.
Betty Joanna Gardner parents were Guy "Hawk" Truman Gardner and Thelma Jane TeVault.
Betty is still alive and lives in Georgia.
Too bad on no more copies of your book-I am sure Aislinn would have enjoyed it.
Let me know if you need anymore information.
