A Find-a-Graver since the site's origins as the hit for notable graves--not genealogy--I do "Famous" bios, and photograph/write about old gravestones, cemeteries, and the people interred within for the general reader. Will cheerfully answer queries, make corrections, add data to the "Family Links" section, and include other relevant info ASAP. Please no requests to insert multiple hyperlinks in the narrative part of the bio or to transfer pre-1900 burials. Find-a-Grave members can always include any grave listed on the website in an ancestral or other type of grouping by using the "Virtual Cemetery" feature. If you wish to quote me or use my photos, please contact me; attribution for written pieces is "by Nikita Barlow, for Findagrave", and for photographs, "Photo by Nikita Barlow". Thanks for your cooperation, and happy graving!

Thanks for getting back to me. I know what you mean about the spelling. It just makes it hard when adding family members, because everyone is adding them into different spellings. I'm also a Find A Grave volunteer in ND so I know what a mess some of these cemeteries can be. I know that people don't always enter things on purpose, I just wish they would search the cemeteries a little better before entering grave sites.

The inscription is found on page 56 of "The Ogden family in America, Elizabethtown branch, and their English ancestry; John Ogden, the Pilgrim, and his descendants, 1640-1906"

Her Find A Grave Memorial # 992. There are two dates given for the death of her husband.

The information you have posted regarding Ethel O. Howard Smith in Lake View Cemetery, Skineateles, NY, is incorrect. The following is from the Lake View Cemetery records found at
Ethel O. Smith is Ethel Ostrander, dau. of Welton Ostrander and Sarah Avery. She married Burnett Smith 29 Mar 1902. Celestia is their daughter, born 24 Jun 1909. Ethel was born 24 Sep 1880 in Syracuse. Burnett was born 28 Jun 1877 in NY.

Thanks for your explanations. The results are fine with me. You may want to put the explanation in the bio box for Mary Lindsly like you did for Ruth Williams just so you don't get others sending you the same changes I sent. Diane

Thank you, yes, I didn't mean to create a duplicate. I have deleted it. But I noticed that you don't have the day of his death, so I submitted an edit to your memorial. Thanks again, Sheila
Oh, yeah, I meant that for his father.
I have sucessfully "deflowered" John Burrowes,Jr.! I did not know we could do that.

That's a really nice write-up, Nikita. Sure is an interesting house over there in Matawan.

Thanks Nikita, I understand the reason for the edit decline. Burrowes' memorials are tricky!
The house she lived in is still standing as a museum & is rumored to be haunted.
"Burrowes Mansion" in Matawan...there's something really spooky about it. It is absolutely gorgeous, but I won't go inside it or even on the lawn anymore because it scared me so much!
