yes I believe its in the Scranton cemetery or maybe possibly in the Gibson-Thompson cemetery.
I'm not sure if your talking about the name Oakes but I believe my grandfather grew up in the area of Scranton and moved to Jefferson as a small child his name is Glen Oakes. His parents were Lyle Oakes & Cora Oakes formally a Parker. He was one of 6 children Roger, Anna, Lila, Elma, and Judy. My great grand mother Norma jean also I believe grew up in the area her maiden name is White but she is now Norma Jean Gibson and goes by the nickname Molly! She married James Eugene Gibson and went by Gene. They had 3 children any of which you might happen to know Stan Gibson, Linda Gibson, And Jim Gibson.
|leann oakes||Hello Betty!|
My names Leann Oakes! I am the great great granddaughter of Opal Thomas and I was wanting to add that her daughters name is Norma not Norman. Also wanted to add that she also married for a 2nd time to John Wesley Shannon and had two more children Tom and Connie.
I was hoping to findout also what may be are relation.

I am trying to locate an ancestor,Rebecca Stogsdill; wife of Hiram Stogsdill. She is said to have been born in 1795 in Franklin, Simpson, KY and died in 1870. She is said to have married Hiram in 1825, but I find she had children in 1821 and 1822.I would like to know more about her parents, etc. if possible. Would you happen to have any information on Fern Stockstell, sister to my grandfather, Orval Bryan Stockstell? Thank you so much for your help.

I believe there is an error on Asa Wilson memorial # 23076431 and i have sent in a correction. Asa Wilson Sr was born in 1785 and died in 1871. He and his wife were living with their son, Asa Willson, in Stark Co, IL. Asa Willson jr Find A Grave #167390986 is buried in the Storm Lake cemetery with his wife Catherine. They are the parents of the children you have linked to their grandparents.
Asa Wilson or Willson Sr wife'n name is Theodosia Silsby Willson (1786-1880). I am sure that is who is buried by Asa Sr.

In searching out this couple I came across the marriage record for Hallie Augustus. He did indeed marry this Ina only the folks you have listed as her are actually his folks.
Ina's parents are: Edward Reeder and Mesina Marsh
I made the changes to Find A Grave and hope you will accept them. I would be glad to send a copy of the MR or you can find it on Ancestry.
Thanks so much for the work you do with Find A Grave. It is appreciated.

I see that you post that Alice was your grandmother. My Great Grandmother was Olive Wever Craig, which makes William and Alice my Great Great grandparents. I'm visiting Iowa in June and taking 2 days to travel the SW portion where my relatives/ancestors lived, including Scranton. Looking forward to seeing the places the grew up. Thanks for the work on FG. David Duffield
