I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I wanted to take this opportunity to share an incredible journey that began as a modest research project back in 2002 and has since evolved into an enduring passion that drives me to this day.
It all started when I decided to assist my niece in preparing a family tree for her school project. Little did I know that this seemingly innocent task would ignite a deep curiosity within me to learn more about our family's history. As I delved into old documents and explored genealogy resources. I stumbled upon a treasure trove of information, especially concerning my mother's side of the family. The more I uncovered, the more my thirst for knowledge grew.
The internet proved to be a valuable tool, connecting me with others who shared a passion for genealogy. Corresponding with them, I received Gedcom files and formed branches of our extensive family tree. Through these interactions, I have amassed a wealth of information, including photos, U.S. Federal Census records, passenger ship lists, war registration cards, and much more. Remarkably, our family tree now spans back as far as the early 1500s.
The driving force behind my dedication is the desire to pass down this precious legacy to my family and anyone else who might share an interest in our history. If anyone you know has additional information or stories to contribute, please feel free to reach out to me via email. As I've learned, sometimes the smallest piece of information can unlock a whole new chapter in our family's narrative.
Through this journey, I've come to believe that we are all connected in some inexplicable way. It's a sentiment I hold dear to my heart, and I'm grateful for the profound sense of belonging this research has given me.
I hope that whoever picks up this work in the future will continue to keep it ALIVE because it contains over 20 years of detailed research. As of Aug. 2023, I have 17,433 individuals in my file. May it be a valuable resource for generations to come.
With warm regards Karen Tedesco
