Trent D. Pendley is a retired fine jeweler, former Realtor, author and an advocate for social justice and Tikkun O'lam.

He has served on the Board of Directors of UJA, JNF, Hillel-ASU, Aviv, and the Sylvia Plotkin Judaica Museum in Greater Phoenix; The Greater Crown Point Chamber of Commerce, The Northwest Indiana Open Housing Center, The Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana and Temple Beth El in Odessa, Texas and Temple Israel of Miller Beach (Gary, Indiana) From 2003-2009 he served as the president of board of The Indiana Jewish Historical Society: ijhs.org He is now a Life Past President of the IJHS.

Trent has served as the Social Action chair of Temple Israel in Gary, Indiana and sits on the Civil Rights Committee of the ADL in Chicago. He is the Public Relations counsel to American Dream Realty in Crown Point.

He wrote "The Jewish History of the Indiana Dunes Country 1830-1950" published in Indiana Jewish History, Sept 2004; Toys in the Closet, a historical fiction 2015 and the forthcoming sequel Lewry Lurie. He is now working on the trilogy: It Happened in the Indiana Dunes.

He wrote the script to the 'FIRST WALK' a historic walking tour of a genteel turn-of-the 20th century neighborhood in his home town of Crown Point, Indiana and has given public readings of a 1930 novel by a local author, long forgotten, which had scandalized Ruffle Shirt Hill. In 1999 he commissioned the Wyeth-Hurd prodigy, David Rogers, to paint his 'Faces in Time' a cubist portrait of the 1878 Lake County Indiana Courthouse with cameos of Susan B. Anthony, John Dillinger, Tom Mix and Rudloph Valentino who had all visited the town's well preserved Victorian town-sqaure.

Trent resides at Musette Lewry in Furnessville, an 1935 English Cottage built for the American Naturalist and author Edwin Way Teale (1899-1980). He had previously been in residence at San Tropez in Scottsdale,AZ and had simultaneously maintained pied-a-terres overlooking Chicago's Lincoln Park and the historic town of Crown Point.

As of 2021 Trent is Trustee of the Furnessville Cemetery Care Fund. In 2023 was named as a Hoosier Jewish Legend by the IJHS.
