Thanks Charles for the kind words and for adding my note to my friend & colleague's memorial. He was indeed an exceptional and unique man who ruffled some feathers in his lifetime, but I believe was a caring person who wanted to use his talents for the betterment of mankind-at-large.
Dear Concerned Find-A-Gave Contributors and visitors,
Regarding: DUPLICATE MEMORIALS in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia
A former large volume F-A-G Contributor had a dispute with Find-A-Grave staff and Deleted some 80% or more, of their contributed memorials, estimated to be about 40,000 or so. Thus causing the rest of us local Contributors, over the last year or more, to re-enter those family, friends and distant relatives we noted were missing.
Once F-A-G had decided to take positive action, they reloaded all the Deleted memorials from that former F-A-G Contributor, on Wednesday, 25feb2015. F-A-G staff, undoubtedly knew they would cause tens of thousands of Duplicates, and assigned their staffer, known as 'ProjectMgr' to work through their Merge process.
Please be patient and allow F-A-G to work through the entire group of Duplicate memorials.
Thanks e-49 for copy of this

I have linked to his mother. In future, the best way to ask for that is to click the edit button on the top right of the memorial and request the changes. Thanks.

|Candace Watts||Fortner ancestors|
Looking for confirmation of identification of person in a portrait found in historic house on Collinwood Farm in Plano, Texas we believe is a Fortner (either Amos Hall Sr or his father Milford Franklin Fortner, ancestors of Mrs Edmonia Fortner Carpenter, etc. Amos Hall Jr buried in Whitewright Texas was son or grandson of this person. Attempting to find pictures or folks who have some of these two gentlemen at earlier age as is the person in the portrait. My email is email@example.com if you wish to see the portrait which is also online at planoconservancy.org website. Portrait being restored and will be on display somewhere in Plano if we are not able to save the house (built in 1861 and added to in 1870s, should be restored but money lacking). Hope to hear from you with a hint as to where to look next. Thanks for all you do in Findagrave. Candace

Charles, are you related to William DeWayne? If so and you would like to manage his memorial page, please go to the memorial page, click on "Edit" and make your request. I'm always looking to be able to transfer management of any memorial pages I initiate to family members. THANKS!

Awesome that youíre related to the Browns and that the line is so well documented. Some day Iíll do my Browns, but I've no known connections at this time!
Youíre certainly welcome for Mary. Itís a small thing compared to all the work you and others have done on FindAGrave. And thanks for the fast update on her name. Done.
I like close-ups of the names and dates, so that is done now too.

Hi, Just a courtesy note to share with you that I added a headstone your memorial for Stephen C. Brown in Graceland Cemetery:
FindAGrave 136388461 - BROWN Stephen C
I also created his wife's memorial for the same headstone: Ruth A. Brown: FindAGrave #143534509
It looks like someone has done a lot of work to link in the Brown connections. If any family would like the memorial for Ruth transferred, then just let me know.
I hope the photo is helpful. I believe it is the only Brown photo I took that was not already on the Graceland Cemetery memorials.

Yes, but like my cousin in Pearisburg, VA, Perry Stubbs, we're related through Johann Davidt, but also my David Ross and his Adam Ross were brothers, my John Clark Glenn and his Margaret Glenn, siblings, and one other I can't recall just now. The point is, Fort Valley was a micro community of not that many different surnames. Sorry, I just caught your msg...don't get to my profile that often. Good to hear back for you!
