Bio and Links
Bio Photo Beth (Jorgensen) Sparrow living in Polk County, Nebraska. Have photos and information on the following surnames: My father's line: Hanks, Fields, Jorgensen, Foster, Lindsay in Nebraska, Illinois, Germany and Denmark.
My mother's line: Seggerman, Regnier, Junker, Michels, Barber, Sickmon in Nebraska and Illinois, Germany, France, and back to England thru Mayflower passengers.

Have photos and some information on my husband's family: His father's line: Sparrow, Foresman, Richart, Hubbard from Illinois and back east. Currently trying to gather records for my husband's Richart line back to the Mayflower.
His mother's line: Patterson, Thompson, Waterman, Smith and Krieg from Illinois and eastern states.
I also have researched my step-mother-in-law's family: Smith, Steward, Flick, Hill, Hughes, Whitacre, Cross and Glass from mainly Illinois, Indiana and east.

Please see my virtual cemeteries for specific relatives in these lines, and please contact me if you are related to any of these families. I like getting in touch with distant cousins.
Let me know if you want me to transfer someone so you can add more info to a relative. If someone is not my relative, I will usually transfer. Please state your relation in your requests for transfer.
Polk county cemetery info came from the cemetery or from the city/cemetery records. Polk county marriage info comes from the clerk's office at the county courthouse.
I am an avid cemetery photographer fulfilling requests in Polk county and trying to photograph all cemeteries in Polk county (where I live).
IF you use my photos in an online tree, PLEASE give credit by saying "courtesy of Beth Sparrow". It's very annoying to see your own photo in an Ancestry tree with no credit given. And you KNOW it's your photo because the bird poop is in the same place.

Jacob Rupp
Hi Beth,

I was visiting Elmlawn Cemetery and checked for Jacob Rupp. I didn't find a marker for Jacob but did find a marker for Louise Rupp.

Hope this helps.

RE: Josephine Kelley
Thanks so much for the quick response, Beth! That is very helpful to know. I do feel confident that Josephine died in 1905 (from the local paper) although I am still trying to get the original obit on her.

I do have her husband's obit. If your friend/co-worker is interested I would be happy to share! I would love to be put in contact with your friend, just to discuss and share info on our common ancestors! Let me know if we can make this happen!

Josephine Kelley
Hello Beth--

I noticed that you were the contributor on my ancestor, Josephine Kelley who is buried in the Hamburg Cemetery, Hamburg, Iowa. I recently sent a photo request for her headstone, but the volunteer that looked said that there was no stone nor was there any record of Josephine being buried in that cemetery.

I was wondering if you could share how/where you got the information for this memorial.

Thank you so much for being such a dedicated volunteer!

Anderson edit - Swede Home
I submitted an "edit" for Charles E and Augusta Anderson, both buried in the Swede Home Cemetery in Polk County, NE cemetery. I was surprised when it was declined because it was merely linking the listings of a husband and wife as proven by the headstone with both their names on it.
"This is an automated email letting you know that your recent edit for the Augusta Anderson (1878 - 1940) Find A Grave memorial has been declined.
General reason: No change. The memorial is up to date with submitted edit."
Did I err?
PS. I was born and raised in Polk County and descend from two very large families. I have seen and appreciate your work immensely!
