I am retired from the Navy, and have retired IN 2001 after 35 years in Law Enforcement. A couple of my hobbies are the documentation and photographing of the tombstones of the Woodmen of the World and the associated fraternal associations, and the photography and documentation of the Civil War veterans headstones where ever I come across them. I had ancestors who fought on both sides of the Civil War. My great Grandfather (Fathers side) fought Confederate (Texas Cav) and his twin brother fought Union side (Colorado Cavalry). My great Great grandfather (Mothers side) fought For the Union from Ohio. I actually actively search for both of the above mentioned types of tombstones in cemeteries where ever I happen to be. My wife usually accompanied me and assisted me greatly in these hobbies. My wife passed away from colon cancer in May 2015 and I haven't taken a picture or visited a cemetery since then. The fun is gone since I LOST my partner of 47 years.
