Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've walked many graveyards, seeing stones in bad shape, and wondered what would happen to them as time marched on. This site is a wonderful way to preserve, if not the actual stone, at least a replica by photograph for the future.

If related and can enhance memorial by adding additional information, please request transfer, stating your relationship. No transfers for collection of a particular family name. If you request transfer, be sure you are committed to a lifetime of maintaining the memorial. Sadly, a few of my older transfers are maintained by contributors who no longer respond.

When sending information to add, include verifiable source. Edits will be verified before being accepted. With quick edits, this is still important so unless evident on memorial, please use the other suggestion and include source. Online trees, such as ancestry's, and family reports/books are not valid sources unless sources are noted.

I no longer add dates of birth calculated from age at death unless a photo of the stone is legible. (I got caught on a couple bad transcriptions which threw off the calculated birthdate).

Links will not be made to memorial in unknown cemeteries.

If you have taken better gravestone photos that what I've posted, please post yours and send a message.

I may try to contact contributors if I question an edit. For those who hide themselves completely by not showing email or allowing comments, my only choice is to decline and hope they resubmit with additional information.

Let me know if you have any questions on my listings - I love a good genealogy search and will try to help if possible!

Happy graving to all!

RE: Adeline Yeckley
In Ancestry.com you will find Michigan Marriage Records for 1867-1952:

A marriage 12 July 1924 in Detroit, Michigan performed by Justice of the Peace James M. Jeffries.

The groom was William P. Yeckley, aged 20, born in Penn. His parents were Charles Yeckley and May Piper.

The bride was Adeline Richardson, aged 18, born in Penn. Her parents were Alfred Richardson and Rose Niles.

In Ancestry.com you will find Virginia Death Records 1912-2014. The death of Adeline R. Yeckley, born 15 April 1906, died 12 January 1983. Daughter of Alfred Richadson and Rose Niles. Wife of William P. Yeckley.

Hope this helps.

RE: John Jones
The original information did come from the unpublished Smith genealogy. The information on his Rev. War service is in Tombstone Inscriptions of Union Co PA by Mary Belle Lontz (1967) p. 112A. I have seen Thomas' grave; as well as, his wife Elizabeth Wohnseidler. Annals of Buffalo by John Blair Linn p. 512 says Thomas Jones, an innkeeper died 15 Oct 1833. p. 570 again lists the same death date for Thomas Jones, right below that is Elizabeth Jones, his wife died 15 Jun 1847. My unpublished history does say Thomas Jones died in 1818, so I am not sure which date is correct. I do have a page of the unpublished history scanned I would like to send to you that backs up your information,as well as mine. Could you e-mail me privately?

RE: Margaret Jones
The name Henry comes from an unpublished genealogy on my Smith family, written in the 1920's. I have tried to verify the information using the census as much as I can. I have found nearly all of it to be correct. I found this couple (John and Margaret Jones) in the census 1850-1870 in Newville, Cumberland Co PA. Their ages do not match what is on the stones, but who knows if they were the ones that gave the information. The two youngest sons Peter and George match in 1850, but not in later censuses.
I see you are descended from Margaret Elizabeth Jones. John Jones who married Margaret Henry was a brother to my great great grandmother Sarah (Jones) Smith who is buried in Union Co PA. The father was in the Rev. War.
As a aside, I believe Margaret Jones, sister to John and Sarah married a brother to Margaret Henry, by the name of Philip Henry. I have been unable to verify this. I just have the names of Margaret Jones and Philip Henry. Hope to hear from you.

Verdana Louise Curry Weaver
Linda,

Thank You very much for your kindness in obtaining the obituary for Verdana and parent's links and death place.

I knew something was wrong, as I had sent snail mail plus called her home but no answer. Her son's working long hours, no one called me. IF, her memorial had not been set up, when visiting Bob's memorial is when I noticed her passing.

I added a Special Thank You on her Memorial with your link to your user name here on Find a Grave for your help.

I thanked Douglas for creating her memorial and taking the headstone pictures.

Then, your help is greatly appreciated more than you know.

I do not live in PA but Tennessee. Bob's Military took him to many places in the US, his work then took him from TX to PA.

Thank You greatly! It is people like you that help connect family to their family members using this site.

Blessings,

Carolyn

RE: Sadie Anderson edit
What I am going on is that they had a daughter Sadie born in 1894 and according to Salome's obituary she was married to an Anderson.
