Bio Photo PLEASE REQUEST TRANSFERS.... I transfer listings to family or other good reasons if you can update them, unless related to me, just tell me your relationship or reason. Most will be granted but I no longer transfer en masse a specific family name.

IMPORTANT: If sending information to add, please give source of information. Without sources, sorry, but I will not add information. With new quick edits, this is still important. Unless evident on memorial, please use the other suggestion and include source.

Find-A-Grave is an extension of my long time hobby of genealogy. I've researched the Barrick line and published a book on Johann Nicholas Barrick and his descendants, originating in the Cumberland & Perry County areas of Pennsylvania. I've searched many graveyards, seen stones that were in such disrepair, and wondered what would happen to them as time marched on. When I found this site, I thought it would be a wonderful way to preserve, if not the actual stone, at least a replica for future genealogists.

If you find errors, let me know. If you have bio or notes to add, I'll review them and add as appropriate. I may add the info and use your contributor name as the source.

I'm a volunteer photographer for the area. If you have a photo that is better than any I have posted, please post it, let me know via the "hint" and I will delete my photo if appropriate.

For anyone interested in family history, or genealogy in general, "The Storytellers" is a must see link. Original Author - Della M. Cummins Wright and Modified by - Della JoAnn McGinnis Johnson and Tom Dunn, tells it all in such a beautiful way...

Prof. K. Edward Lay
Death Certificate
Hi Linda,
Thank you so much for finding that death certificate. No one in the family ever spoke of a second infant child! The parents are my grandparents, and the child was a late-in-life conception. Now I'd like to find the death certificate for the first child born and died in 1899.
I was born at Westminster just west of Carlisle. The family had been in the Cumberland/Perry County area since c 1790 and before that from Bucks County back to the early 1700s. They were Germanic Swiss.
Thank you for all the volunteer work you've done. FindAGrave is a genealogy in itself and has revolutionized free on-line genealogy.
