Bio Photo PLEASE REQUEST TRANSFERS.... If you are related and can enhance the memorial by adding additional information, please request transfer, giving me your relationship. No transfers just for collection of a particular family name.

If you request a transfer, be sure you are committed to a lifetime of maintaining the memorial. Unfortunately a few of my older transfers are maintained by contributors who no longer respond.

IMPORTANT: When sending information to add, give source of information. Without sources, sorry, but changes will not be made. With new quick edits, this is still important. Unless evident on memorial, please use the other suggestion and include source. Please note that online trees, such as ancestry's, are not valid sources unless documentation is attached to the tree.

We've searched many graveyards, seen stones that were in such disrepair, and wondered what would happen to them as time marched on. This site is a wonderful way to preserve, if not the actual stone, at least a replica by photograph for future genealogists. Our eldest son has also gained in interest in photographing the stones and we have enjoyed working these cemeteries together and searching out requests.

If you have taken better gravestone photos that what we have posted, please post yours and send a message - we will review and delete ours if appropriate.

I may try to contact contributors if I question an edit. For those who hide themselves completely by not showing email or allowing comments, my only choice is to decline and hope they resubmit with additional information.

Happy graving to all!

---Linda & family

Thanks for the transfers of the Sorber memorials. Seems like we keep tripping over each other all the time ... l.o.l.

Best, Barry

Name and link to parents from baptismal record First Presbyterian Church, Carlisle, as well as census records 1850-1870 South Middleton, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

Her sister Ann Mary married Rebecca’s widower Abraham Witmer Dec 1878, First Presbyterian Church, Carlisle. I haven’t yet found Rebecca’s marriage record, so that is based on the tombstone.

Thank you for verifying the information. So many don't.

On you will find all her information. Every other memorial manager I have sent edit to, check it out through their own sources. If you don't have time to check them, then please transfer the memorial. Thanks.

RE: Various edits
Do you challenge every suggested edit made to you? Can you imagine the time it would take if I had to authenticate each one I make, and I have made thousands. These are your memorials and "you" have an obligation to make them correct, or more correct, not me. I am only suggesting. If the birth dates are not exact to the year is better than no birth year at all. Persons are hard to find in findagrave with only a death year.
All that being said, my source is as follows:

Sons of the American Revolution
Pennsylvania Society
Washingtonburg Chapter
If you do not accept this as accurate enough, simply decline my edit suggestions and I will add new memorials for them with both dates.

I was in with 'Thera'... She grew up in the area we are speaking about.... She also descends from many of the 'familiar' names we research...Thera was in 'constant' contact with the Shippensburg Historical Society for information and confirmation... Thera passed away several years ago now.... Before she passed away she entered her 'family' in Find A Grave... I know she would have wanted us to carry on her work. I am using Thera's site in to confirm my findings...

If you want to look up her site in it is under: Schwenk, Stout, Moyer, Naugle, Goodhart, Latshaw & Allied Families of PA.

She also has a "Homepage" you can access through her site. Lots of information there!!

Thank you for your inquiry and Happy New Year!
