I've walked many graveyards, seeing stones in bad shape, and wondered what would happen to them as time marched on. This site is a wonderful way to preserve, if not the actual stone, at least a replica by photograph for the future.|
If related and can enhance memorial by adding additional information, please request transfer, stating your relationship. No transfers for collection of a particular family name. If you request transfer, be sure you are committed to a lifetime of maintaining the memorial. Sadly, a few of my older transfers are maintained by contributors who no longer respond.
When sending information to add, include verifiable source. Edits will be verified before being accepted. With quick edits, this is still important so unless evident on memorial, please use the other suggestion and include source. Online trees, such as ancestry's, and family reports/books are not valid sources unless sources are noted.
I no longer add dates of birth calculated from age at death unless a photo of the stone is legible. (I got caught on a couple bad transcriptions which threw off the calculated birthdate).
Links will not be made to memorial in unknown cemeteries.
If you have taken better gravestone photos that what I've posted, please post yours and send a message.
I may try to contact contributors if I question an edit. For those who hide themselves completely by not showing email or allowing comments, my only choice is to decline and hope they resubmit with additional information.
Let me know if you have any questions on my listings - I love a good genealogy search and will try to help if possible!
Happy graving to all!

Thanks, I will keep that in mind.

Death location for George Gill was taken from the Family History site on their SSDI entry. He and his wife Helen were both buried in Cumberland County. Any other question I will try to answer.

Can I have permission to use your cenotaph marker image of this veteran for our web site Chester county Hall of Heroes: http://www.chescoheroes.org/216/Air-Force
He is actually buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Same person, two different approaches for references, two different photos of the gravestone by two different people. I just left an edit for Jan to attach her Adeline to her parents.

Thanks for posting photos about Lottie Nicholson. I get postings that confuse me with her. I will concede that it is highly unusual to have two with the same name. I am married to Richard Nicholson, son of Clarence Nicholson.I am hoping since you do a lot of research this will help. I usually go by my previous married name of Vandergaw doing genealogy. I have a public t ree of Pearson-Vandergaw on FTM and Ancestry. Take care, Lottie Pearson Vandergaw Nicholson.

I checked around the area and there were no other stones nearby with any markings on them. I have about another 1/3 of the cemetery left to walk. I suspect this stone may have been put in well after they had died. The area around the stone actually has few other stones so there are either a lot of unmarked burials or a lot of empty slots.
