Bio

I, Dean Charles, am the 3rd great grandson of Alexander McCleery (1756 or 1757 - 1845), George Campbell and Revolutionary War veteran Samuel Leslie, who are interred at Seceder's Corners Cemetery in Liberty Township, Trumbull County, Ohio, and Revolutionary War veteran James Marshall who is interred in Oak Hill Cemetery in Youngstown. Alexander McCleery donated the land on which the Seceder's Corners Cemetery lies. I grew up on the northern parcel of the old farm, which was passed on to my grandfather, John Marshall McCleery. My father, William Brandt Charles bought the parcel from Grandpa McCleery and developed Tanglewood Drive on it. My dad sold the southern portion of the parcel in 1966 and it is now known as the westbound lane of I-80. The old house that Elizabeth Jane McCleery Love built in 1910 and the original homestead on the southern portion of the farm were also consumed by I-80.

Dean Charles is an environmental consultant who lived in the San Diego area for almost 40 years. Dean and his wife Cathy now live in Williams, Oregon, love to travel and visit natural places. When thy're not on the road, they split their time between Southern Oregon and their home in Baja. Visit their websites at: http://deanoid.net
