A Southern Family Tree is not a tree but a beautiful Wisteria Vine with many branches going everywhere and a lost root!|
NSDAR 1988 Patriots: Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis, John Anderson, Charles Heard, William Hay, Lt. Willis Pope, Nathaniel Jones,John Stovall, Absalom Davis and Owen Griffin. Only one has a known grave site so the rest do not have memorials on FAG. (Update Nov 2015: found that other members are now making unknown burials of these patriots meeting their genealogy storage goal and not FAG's goal of recording graves sites)
Colonial Dames of XVIIC 2009 Colonial Ancestor: Bartholomew Stovall, NC
Amelia Island Genealogical Society~ Corresponding Secretary 2004-2005 and Past Nassau County, FL Genealogical Website Committee member.
Published in the Quarterly magazines of the Southern Genealogical Exchange and Amelia Island Genealogical Society articles on my family and various others of North FL lines.
6th Generation Floridian: Ancestor Florida Pioneer Abner Sweat and son Samuel.
To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....
First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.
Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".
If you are seeking transfer to "have all your family together" ~ use the virtual cemetery button. Then all of the memorials will be in the same "cemetery", and you can look at them daily.
Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.
You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.
Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.
Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.
Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

You are very welcome. I didn't even notice the "male" linked as his wife. Good eye! Have a great day.
|Douglas Kirk Sorensen||Louise Allbritton|
Hi Linda - You just sent me a suggestion message. It had an Adeline Aamold memorial referenced in the first part and then you explained that my Louise Allbritton memorial was accepted for famous status.
I first checked and the Aamold memorial is mine (not famous at all) but the Allbritton memorial is not mine to my knowledge.
I do appreciate your efforts in getting some of my memorials accepted as famous. But the one you reference Allbritton is not mine that I can determine.
Thanks for your efforts - Doug Sorensen
|Jimmy Trussell||RE: duplicated memorials|

Sorry, but I don't know his wife's name. Doug
|Carolyn Arntson||Janet Clark|
Janet I claimed your request for Janet Clark. Not sure if you take photos for Find A Grave and if so perhaps have had this happen to you....I've posted 30 photos today and the LAST ONE to do is Janet's. She and Herbert M Clark Jr are interred together in the photo. BUT for whatever reason each time I attach the photo it tips to its side:( I've rotated it and I've turned photos off and on - which has fixed the 'bug' in the past. So far I haven't been able to FIX this one. Want you to know it has been taken and I'll continue to attempt to fix the photo and attach that I have BUT if for whatever reason it won't right itself I'll redo another photo next Monday when I go to the Mausoleum again. Carolyn
Hi Linda - did you hear back from the contributor - should this be removed from photo request list? Thanks, Karen
