Bio

A Thought: I have been a member of Find a Grave for a bit over 10 years. During this time I have taken the time to make sure all information I have posted is correct and accurate from over 40+ years of doing my family research. Until recently, everyone has been so very kind, supportive and very easy to get along with. There were times I have asked for a transfer and those not being family members have very kindly done so. In turn, if someone asked for management of a file I have posted I have done so in return. No big deal until recently.

Within the last two weeks I have encountered two very nasty individuals. I kindly and respectfully requested a transfer from non-family members and what I experienced is beyond believable. I received a written lecture because I have not post many files and should make sure I understand the rules. This went as far as the lecture being posted in public. Another incident made an accusation that I posted some information of MY family that belonged to them and was threatened to be intimidated to take it down. This accusation also came with profanity explatives.

Thankfully, several individuals, after seeing the posts that were made public, contacted me via e-mail to explain they have too encountered “run-in’s” with the same two individuals. This is truly very unfortunate when all people do is post remembrances and historical facts of their loving family to share with everyone. That way the love ones who have left us will be remembered for a very long time thanks to the developers of Find A Grave.

Therefore, in an effort to alleviate any other mishaps, misfortunes, rudeness and profanity from individuals like the two I encountered, I will no longer post detailed bio-sketches on files or pages that I do not manage. In addition, any photo or information that can possibly be removed that I have posted from these individuals pages will also be deleted. That will stop the information from being arbitrarily being revised before being edited into other files. I mainly do research on the Westberry, Folsom, Conway, Wilson, Hiers, Sineath , Crosby and some allied families. If you feel I might be able to assist you in your endeavors and could have information you might want please do not hesitate to contact me. I am more than willing to share what I know and have. If you do not care for the information I have then you have the right to discard it. Thank you to the two individuals who so strongly feel they have the right to talk to other people with their rude, condescending and derogatory comments and expletives. It is a shame it has come to this. Doug Westberry
