Greetings,
I have done extensive research on my family. This includes from the 1870s through the present. Many of my descendants are the Harris, Morton, Richardson, Smith, Applewhite, Debnam, Scarboro, Montaque of Johnston, Granville, Vance, and Wake Counties North Carolina. Witherspoon, Hammond, and Murray from Sumter, South Carolina.
The late Alice Morton Harris(Crockett Harris) oldest granddaughter's are as follows: Lottie Harris Rollins Dunston-born February 15, 1912, departed this earthly life at the age of 105 on August 20, 2017, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mamie Harris Scarboro is the next granddaughter age 102 years old born March 20, 1914. Mamie departed this life on September 28, 2016, in Knightdale, North Carolina. Alice currently has four granddaughters. There are Great-grandchildren of William and Susan Morton.
The late Fannie Morton(Charles Webb)lived in Stovall Township in Granville County, N.C.
The late Elizabeth(Wallace Owens) of Stovall Township.
The late Anderson Morton(Anna Speed) of Oxford, N.C.
The late William, Annie, and Sallie were other siblings.

The late Rufus Morton(Tripholia Moseley) had one daughter Susie Morton Fields. She resides in Henderson, N.C. The only living grandchild of the late William and Susan Morton.

William died prior to 1900 and Susan died in 1922(born in Virginia)lived in Granville County, N.C.

The late John Morton(Maggie Ritchie) of Dinwiddie County, Virginia had several children they were: Alfred, Andrew, Carrie, Indiana, Frank, and Bessie.

The late John and Carrie Morton McKensie. John and Carrie owned a lot of acres and they provided for their family. Many of these family members continue to show the Christian values and education in their family. The late Robert and Indiana Morton Jefferson families are located in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, and surrounding counties. They are heirs of the late William and Susan Morton of Granville County, N.C.

My Maternal grandparents, Thomas and Mamie Debnam Harris were farmers and landowners of more than a hundred acres. They promoted education and were successful with their children attending and graduating from the following colleges: Fayetteville State Teacher's College(Fayetteville State University), Howard University, North Carolina Central University, and North Carolina A& T State University, and Virginia State University. Their careers were Register Nurses and Teachers. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren are continuing to follow the legacy.

My Paternal family, The Rev. Jesse and Rosa Lee Murray Witherspoon formerly from Sumter, South Carolina. Their children were: Jessie Jr, Bennie, Carleigh, Leon, Dorothy, Margaret, and David. Although Leon, Margaret, and David were ministers they continued to follow Christ. Rev. Jesse Witherspoon was the founder of Abyssinia Baptist Church North West Washington, D.C. This church is now located in Capitol Heights, Maryland. He relocated to Nassau County, New York where he continued to preach the gospel and founded Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Union dale, N.Y. Many of the family migrated to N.C., Washington D.C., New York, and Huntington, West Virginia, etc.

I am the proud mother of three sons (twins) and one daughter. Grandparent of seven grandchildren.

My family and friends who are owners of Funeral Homes in the states of North Carolina, Virginia, District Of Columbia, and West Virginia have enabled me to become knowledgeable and interested in keeping my descendants, and others in this database.
