Find A Grave at one time was my passion but, with the way people criticize others, and the holy than thou attitudes of some, it's lost it's passion with me. I still work on the site but, not like I once did.

Missing my son, Mark Allen Israels. II.

Losing a child is the most horrific pain one will ever feel.

* I will do all necessary corrections, but in fairness I think when I'm asked, (especially asking me to change all of the unknowns I entered to how you think the first, middle and last names should be listed) I SHOULD BE ABLE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE ON YOUR PROFILE PAGE OR AT LEAST LIST YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. Yes, I know I can click on one of your memorial you entered and message you through the edit function, but, I feel I shouldn't have to do that.

The "Hillside Cemetery" in Reno was my motivation for Find A Grave. I had been a resident of Reno for 20 years before I knew of its existence. I finally found where the Hillside Cemetery was located and when I went there I was so appalled, outraged and shocked at the condition of the final resting place for many of Washoe County's finest citizens.

I started researching the cemetery online and found a survey prepared by Dolores Samuels Young and Mildred Chandler Pressell, back in 1955. Thank God, these ladies took the time to record all of the headstones that were legible at that time. Without their survey who knows how many people would have been forgotten.

I try everyday to find some little piece of information for the people buried in the Hillside Cemetery.

I try to post all information I find on a person, I believe it's sharing not stealing, especially if I take the time to research the information I find. Not everybody has the means to find the same information. I hate to think that a picture I found in a yearbook, or in a library and didn't share might have been a relative's only chance of seeing it. I'm forever grateful to others who shared pictures of my family with me. I also post obituaries especially from the 1800's. I think people like to see them. With that being said, I hope you see me as a contributor who wants to help in every way possible.

May God bless you and keep you safe in his loving arms.

For memorial #147131499 (Maria Ensslin), you cite her death certificate as the source of info. Do you have a copy, or is there an easy way to find one? I have been searching for "Aunt Maria's" grave for a long time, so thank you for uploading the information you did.

RE: A. Turner, Hillside Cemetery
I found it! He was Archibald G. Turner from Belleville. His brother James is buried in the Belleville Cemetery according to the early 20th century feature articles and photos. Thanks, Bernice! Stop looking now! Sue

A. Turner, Hillside Cemetery

I can't remember why I requested this be transferred and I cannot find the message I sent. Would you be able to email me a copy of what you got? (This is embarrassing...)
